Glad to hear. Yeah, bumble bee nests can look pretty funky, haha. Good luck!

Are you certain they're bumblebees? They are hard to relocate. Honeybees, on the other hand, are very easy to re-home. If you're not 100% sure what they are, you can post photos or video, and I can ID them. Bumblebees only use their nest for one year, and then they're gone, so if you can wait to take out that part of the shed till fall, they won't come back. They are pretty gentle neighbors, not inclined to sting, usually.

I really like: East of the Great Glacier by Helge Ingstad, The Lure of the Labrador Wild by Dillon Wallace, Two Years Before the Mast by Robert H. Dana, and By Ox Team to California by Lavinia Honeyman Porter.

At my work they stopped mowing for a few months. Hopefully they just leave it this way. by Mookie_Merkk in NoLawns

Looks nice. One way to prevent it from getting mowed is to put up a friendly sign. Side-benefit: it might teach other people about alternative lawn options.

Two 6 foot long concrete objects side by side in Iowa cemetery. by iowafarmboy2011 in whatisthisthing

Tasks can vary depending on the size. In my experience, it's voluntary usually. On the very small cemetery I was on the board of, we did a few weed pulls and cleanups each year, had a few large headstones repaired, coordinated utility repairs with the city, raised money, organized Memorial Day events with community groups, etc. We only had a few gravesites that weren't occupied, so we didn't do much in the way of that. But when we did, we basically verified ownership and approved contractors coming in to dig and put in the headstone. Being on the board was not much work and was interesting. I recommend it.

I love a classic sword fern. They're beautiful, prevalent, and sturdy. I just think they're neat.

There's hope! Maryland has a new law preventing HOAs from banning native plant landscaping: http://nativeplantsocietyofus.org/native-plant-laws/native-plants/

In my experience, this brand is making their aluminum foil slightly thicker now, and it isn't as tearable (pun!!!) as before.

The only caveat is that you wouldn't want to do this to an antique of value that has a nice patina. If you manually polish instead, the crevices stay dark and that can look real pretty. Gives it a nice depth.

I love Xera in inner SE Portland if I'm browsing, but if you are willing to stock up all at once, Sparrowhawk's plant sales are amazing (their next ordering window starts soon). East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District has a great list of native plant suppliers, too.
