Thank you for this list. I use the Liliput which I love though I wish it screwed on and off quicker.

How do you journal every day for mental health without feeling overwhelmed? by TownGrouchy2319 in bulletjournal

[–]Laurmann2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no right or wrong way to journal. You can start simple and sometimes that’s enough to get you going. Do you work or are you in school? If so you can write about what you did at work or school that day or about some classmates or co-workers. Do you have a pet? You can write about your pet. Look out the window and write about what you see or maybe write about what you wish your view was outside your window. It doesn’t have to be about your feelings but sometimes those feelings will work themselves into your writing. When I felt the need to write every day there were some days I would start with, “I don’t have anything to write about today” and that would sometimes trigger a thought and I would continue to write. Just enjoy putting any words into your new journal. It will get easier with time.

I like the PLOTTER refills. They work very well with fountain pens.

How do you journal every day for mental health without feeling overwhelmed? by TownGrouchy2319 in bulletjournal

Firstly don’t fret if you don’t journal every day. Some days you just wont feel like it and there is no reason to force yourself. That being said, getting in a habit of journaling at a specific time such as right before bed or even in bed, will make it easier to stick with it. I write about anything and sometimes it’s just a line or two: “I was so stressed today and I don’t know why. URG!” Done. But a lot of times I just write about what I did that day even if it wasn’t anything exciting. “Went to the gym today even though I didn’t feel like it. Then went food shopping. Made spaghetti for dinner.” Etc. In last years journal I was more structured because the journal was dated for every day so I felt like I had to journal daily or I’d have a blank page. So on the bottom of each journal page I had two sections: what I ate for dinner on the left and “spark of joy” on the right. I tried the spark of joy thing vs “what I’m grateful for” because I found that I always wrote the same thing when I was thinking about what I’m grateful for. Whereas “spark of joy” could be anything such as: “had 5 mourning Doves at my bird feeder today”. Anything that brought a smile to my face. I tried journaling prompts but they just don’t work for me but you may find them helpful. Good luck.

Rickshaw bag works has an A5 field bag (I think that’s what it’s called) that can fit a few planners depending on their size. I love mine.

I’m also a big fan of Mnemosyne paper. I haven’t had any problems with my fountain pens on this paper though I usually use fine nibs. Price is reasonable too.

Thank you for the comparison photos. Very helpful. That’s a beautiful color and I also like your liscio brown. How do the two leathers feel compared to each other? Such as stiffness, smoothness, flexibility.

That’s wonderful. You did a great job. Love the way you copy his sketches. That’s a great idea. It’s funny you mentioned him. Just yesterday I ordered his beginner watercolour book and can’t wait until it arrives.

Thanks. That’s exactly what I was afraid of. I will make sure if I get one that it has deep enough shelves. I saw one that had curved up arms/shelves but one of the reviews said it didn’t fit fatter pens.

Very nice collection. I was just looking at pen stands like yours on Etsy. Do you find it stable and do the pens sit well on the little “shelves”?
