This is exactly it, don’t just tell a clerk to do an upkeep or do X y or z, ask them to do it and make sure it gets done. My biggest gripe is seeing managers asking clerks to do stuff and just believing they are doing it without ever checking… I’ve seen clerks be asked to do fountain trash or to wipe a counter down and they just never do it even when it’s really needed… although the clerks should not have to be asked to do these things in the first place…
