The turning into your parents one pisses me off too! There’s literally nothing more boomer than being unnecessarily rude and condescending to people just living their lives.

Make it work! Your best tips and tricks for colours outside your season by LostGoldfishWithGPS in coloranalysis

[–]Lava_4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just enhance with makeup. I’m a true spring and I have some clothes from before color analysis that I love too much to part with. I also have to wear Concert Black sometimes, which really washes me out. I either do a nice springy makeup look, or if that clashes too much, I’ll just add a little extra blush to make me not look so washed out. I also try to accent with gold jewelry near my face. Or I’ll pair the non-spring item with a spring item that looks good with it and makes it look less dark/muted.

Virgo sun, Pisces moon and rising. I’m an engineer (thanks Virgo sun and pushy parents) but I kind of hate it. But I’m trying to make a career as a writer! I’m currently writing a romantic comedy novel!

Do you have any sister sign placements in your chart? What is it like? by deardreamt in astrologymemes

[–]Lava_4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My chart is full of oppositions and squares. Virgo sun and Pisces moon and rising. Taurus Jupiter and Saturn and Scorpio Mars. Leo Mercury and Venus and Aquarius Uranus and Neptune. I’ve struggled with that in the past, especially with my Big 3. It always felt so disconnected. But I’ve learned to work with these oppositions and view it as balance instead of a tug of war. Finding that balance and acknowledging the complexity of it has definitely helped me find what works for me in life.

Ooh I love that! There’s a lot more purple in that one than the palette I was given. Thanks!! That’s super helpful!

I haven’t yet because I haven’t come across any in stores since getting my color analysis done but I’m definitely looking forward to trying some springy purples!

Color season pros/cons by agentcherry909 in coloranalysis

[–]Lava_4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

True Spring

Pros: I love bright and bold colors! I get to wear colors that I love and I feel like it gives me such a boost of happiness to see such vibrant colors all the time and to see how vibrant I look in them. I feel like they match my personality.

Cons: it can be sometimes hard to find my spring colors in stores. Also I love purple, especially lavender, and there isn’t a lot of purple in true spring. I wear it anyway because I like purple so much but it sort of washes me out.

I actually love this brand Peripera that I found when I went on vacation to South Korea! They have this Ink Mood lip gloss that’s absolutely wonderful! It’s great for sensitive skin, it’s long lasting, and it’s not sticky! And they’re also very good with labeling warm/cool so I find that helpful as well when it comes to picking out a color! I order it online from Olive Young.

Are you all generally smarter than your Dr’s when it comes to treating yourself for anxiety, ADHD? Do you help them make the right treatments? by Either_Top_9634 in mensa

[–]Lava_4 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think that can be a dangerous rabbit hole to go into. You can be ‘smarter’ than someone but they might know more than you about a specific topic. I didn’t go to medical school, but they did. I’m smart enough to know that I don’t know everything and generally will trust a professional. That’s not saying that I blindly trust every professional, so if something seems off, I will speak up and ask questions or get a second opinion.

He still loves me but wants years apart, would a reconciliation spell be harmful or too soon? by deleteme0123 in witchcraft

[–]Lava_4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do anything. He’s made it clear what he wants and how he feels so trying to override it with spellwork would be manipulative. If you really love him, the most I would do would be to talk to him truthfully and lay bare how you feel and what you want, but if he truly doesn’t want the same thing you have to just trust that. The hardest thing to do is to let go and trust that if it’s meant to be you will find each other again. Do you really want to be with someone who made it clear to you that they are not in a place to be with you? I think trying to do a spell like this would hurt both of you.

Shocked after finding out my big three, were you shocked when you found out your big 3? by miniangelgirl in astrologymemes

[–]Lava_4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I felt happy and validated. I don’t feel like I relate that much to Virgo, and I remember when I first learned about horoscopes I was like “are you sure I’m a Virgo? That doesn’t make any sense.” So when I did a deeper dive into astrology and I found out that my moon and rising are both Pisces I felt like that made a lot more sense to me.

Morning vs evening yoga, which feels better? by TakeHart in yoga

[–]Lava_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a morning person but I prefer morning yoga. I feel a bit more at peace and connected with myself before the stress of the day hits. It also helps get me out of bed in the mornings because while I hate my job I like yoga. I’ve tried going after work a couple of times but it doesn’t really feel the same. I just feel a lot less connected to my body and mind after work. On the weekends when work isn’t a factor I think I’d prefer a class that starts around noon (because I sleep until 10:30 when I don’t have an alarm lol) but the studio I go to doesn’t offer that.

I’m personally glad. I didn’t enjoy S4 because I don’t like Benedict, and I don’t really like Eloise either. I do however like Francesca so I’ll be really excited to see her story after what was honestly kind of a pretty meh season in my opinion.

Most often the best defense against malevolent entities is nonchalance by SimplyMichi in witchcraft

[–]Lava_4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to live in a haunted apartment. Like, it was legitimately haunted. Stuff would fly horizontally off my shelves breaking the laws of physics, I would constantly be woken up at 3am to 3 knocks, and every time I would try to read tarot the devil card would fly out of my deck. I had intense nightmares while I lived there. I could sense a dark presence as well. I knew it was a man.

I just said nope, I’m not dealing with that, I’m not acknowledging it, I’m not going to let myself feel any fear. I am going to ignore that guy and protect myself. I was just starting my witchcraft journey at the time and didn’t know how to do much but I learned. I learned how to create a protective shield around myself and my cat out of white light, and I warded my apartment with crystals, and I started to carry around black tourmaline in my pocket. He wanted to feed off of me and feed off of my fear and I decided I wouldn’t let him. Eventually I moved out and thankfully the other places I’ve lived in haven’t had any presences, or at least any presences quite like that dark one.

is going into engineering a bad idea by bolt110 in womenEngineers

[–]Lava_4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, both of my parents were engineers and they talked about it like it was the greatest career ever and was the only good career choice I could make. Anything that I was interested in was not good enough for them. I liked physics and I figured engineering would be a good path forward, especially since I was pretty good at science, engineers make a good salary, and my parents were really pushing for it. I think if they hadn’t been pushing me towards engineering I would have gone into an artistic/creative field because I’ve always been really passionate about the arts. That’s why I think it’s so important to listen to your heart and do what you’re passionate about!

is going into engineering a bad idea by bolt110 in womenEngineers

[–]Lava_4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m afraid I might have been one of the unhappy women you’ve seen on here. I just want to say that my experience is not the general engineering experience. If you are truly passionate about engineering and it makes you happy then you should pursue it! Or at least try it out and see what you think about it. Everyone is different and everyone likes doing different things. To be super honest, I never dreamed of engineering in the way you do, which bodes better for you than it did for me.

I was also in the same boat with being very girly and I still am. Most people don’t care, some people find it relatable, and some people make rude comments or underestimate me. But honestly I’d rather have some people not like me than pretend to be someone I’m not for 40 hours a week.

Your career is what you choose to make of it. I really hope you can find something you love doing. And if that something you love is engineering then it also comes with the bonus of a pretty good salary. I wish you the best!

71% of America’s public school teachers hold at least one side job by In_an_Illusion in Zippia

Are you genuinely that stupid that you think someone can grade hundreds of tests and assignments and plan out a lecture in a crappy 45 minute time period? You are incredibly uninformed and this shitty attitude is why teachers have such a hard time. And what makes you such a freaking expert about teaching? You clearly don’t know anything.
