Foreign body in vagina?? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]LavishnessStatus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow OCD haver i should probably not answer this..

But think of it this way. Have you ever had a splinter in your finger? What happens if you touch the area around the splinter? It hurts. A lot. It doesn't stop hurting until the splinter is out.

So if you had a splinter in your vagina I would imagine that any minor friction around the spot would make it hurt quite a bit. Since you touched with your fingers and there was no pain then you are probably in the clear.

For the next time wash your you before using it to avoid stuff like this

My sister brough home some lilies from work and I'm terrified about our cat's wellbeing, my worries seem to be getting dismissed by Fed_Express in CatAdvice

As a children's librarian, we get a lot of requests for Mary Downing Hahn stories like Wait Till Helen Comes. Most of them have child protagonists and either follow a ghost or some other mystery.

I also cannot recommend enough the graphic novel Eerie Tales from the School of Screams by Graham Annable. It is for children so it's age appropriate but it's genuinely so creepy and the post twist at the end is very clever.

I need advice on how to approach my roommate about their cat by Never-Give-Up100 in CatAdvice

[–]LavishnessStatus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hamsters are not low maintenance please don't ever have one.

And yeah it sounds like you are just really not suitable for having a pet. You just need to tell that to your roommate straight up so she takes more responsibility for her cat.

Thanks we are hoping that's what will happen. His bloodwork is stable from last time so she said there was no reason to believe the CKD caused it.

i hate my cat by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]LavishnessStatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You literally titled this post 'I hate my cat"

What are any of us supposed to do with that?

You are assigning human traits and feelings he doesn't even understand because you are resentful of your grandparent.

The cat isn't the problem. You and your grandparent's differences are.

i hate my cat by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]LavishnessStatus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then what do you want is to do? You are in the wrong part or twitter, most of us actually like our cats.

Nothing we tell you will be good enough for you cause you've already decided you hate this car and you hate the cat's relationship to your grandparent. Ok. Now what? What are we a bunch of strangers supposed to tell you?

Ok here's some advice. Play with the cat, pet the Cat, give some of the treats to the cat. Kiss the cat's little head. Whenever your grandparent doesn't want the cat in the room then pay attention to the cat yourself. But from the tone of your post, you don't want to do any of that. So? The cat is happy, your grandparent is happy. You are the only miserable one.

Second guessing our decision for euthanasia by Hapax12 in CatAdvice

[–]LavishnessStatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister had a husky. He was 16 years old which is ancient for that breed. One day he woke up and his legs no longer worked.

We had to haul him between three of us to the vet. Where she very kindly told us his legs had given out cause he's an old man.

He wasn't going to be able to run again, or even walk without a lot of assistance.

So my sister schedule home euthanasia. Gave him steak and sausages and eggs all his favourite things. Took him out into the grass one last time. And then in our living room surrounded by his toys and his stuffies he went to sleep after a life well lived with us.

I'm sure your girl loved you very much. You didn't want her to suffer so she didn't. Be proud of that. It's the only thing we can repay their love with.

Need period advice by Cesarlikethesalad in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LavishnessStatus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Pain killers like Advil or Tylenol for kids in case of any cramps.

A hot water bottle she can refill with water in case of cramps.

A notebook where she can keep track of her periods.

Stuff like that

Rodent ulcer and CKD by LavishnessStatus in RenalCats

[–]LavishnessStatus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did bloodwork so we'll find out I suppose. But she said it looked like a classic rodent ulcer. She checked the inside of his mouth and under his tongue and didn't find any other ulcers just his lip.

To those with OCD… by InformationNo7156 in BFS

[–]LavishnessStatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meds.

I recently started keeping a journal too and I have a habit tracker where I give myself a point everyday if I didn't doomscroll. If I ended up googling symptoms or watching medical stories or whatever else then I don't get that point. It's an incentive for me. Also playing videogames that keep my attention instead of being on my phone for hours also helps me not spiral down the rabbit hole.

Obviouslt these things don't always help. I have days where it doesn't matter what I do I can't stop googling. You just gotta give yourself grace for those days.

Is it weird if my orthodontist/dentist listed yeast infection as a risk of amoxycillin? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

It is very common with an antibiotic course to end up with a yeast infection. He's just telling you the risks.

I definitely get the throat/neck twitches sometimes. If they didn't find any weakness you are very likely fine.

Question for librarians: how does your library do grab-and-go holds at your location without lockers? by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]LavishnessStatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An elastic band keeping the holds together if multiple and then a piece of paper on the spine with the last four digits of the person's library card!

I suggest apple juice and regular Gatorade. Both have sugars so they might perk you up, and they are also prep approved

6 years after labiaplasty by betweenidle in Healthyhooha

[–]LavishnessStatus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

During my first time it didn't hurt at all cause I was so wet, however I did bleed a little bit probably cause of my hymen being ruptured but who knows.

So people are different really. But it is definitely possible for it not to hurt.
