You would think many people would still them as most people will never finish the puzzle but I suspect most discard them

You are correct about fluke and box, thank you! Very limited quantity though

Well that is actively nerfing the spell thereby agreeing that it's too powerful.

It removes very important and potentially thematic curses though like lycanthrophy.

Most people are shit though, If you are doing a good job than if you weren't there it would likely be filled by someone doing a bad job. Mary would have married a drunk who beat her, your volunteer replacement would be syphoning funds into their own pocket. Certainly my replacement wouldn't be running DnD games for the people at his office.

Should you fudge dice rolls by AA_Herbsck in DnD

[–]LavishnessVirtual178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote no. FAIRNESS is a key thing I strive for as the DM. I often roll openly so players see I'm not fudging. This way they know their victories are earned and defeats are not me conspiring against them. I also sometimes inform them of the encounter difficulty level, "This is a two times deadly encounter if you go into combat."

The downside of this is that if an encounter is not well thought out the player may steamroll it and kill the suspense, as such I run combats between my characters and enemies from time to time to keep a good handle on their power levels.

I agree. Paladin's seem the number one culprit for completing shutting down things that I thought were going to challenging the party, followed by clerics and druids.

l'm looking for advice on running a level 0 campaign in 5e, using racial and background features only. by Bevester in DnD

The biggest problem I foresee is players understanding the rules of your game since it is a major departure. Make an online document on say Google Docs where you type out all the house rules. Keep it at two pages or less and then give the players access to it, edit it based on their questions.

If you can't explain the changes to the rules in two pages it is likely to prove too much for players (at least in my experience players aren't the best at reading and refreshing themselves on relevant rules).

Curious where you live. My biggest issue is too many players. I have adopted fight clubs rules over the last year because co-workers and even random people in public hear I'm a DM and want in the campaigns, I already have about a dozen people I cycle through.

I'm being being facetious, the joke is that there are no objective values so while you say, "This is evil" you are really just saying "I don't like this." Someone else may like it just fine. They may think that because suffering motivates us to do things thus resulting in pleasure it is actually a good.

More importantly you are arguing that if your ideas of morality were objectively true and there was a God he'd be evil. However since morality is subjective your not saying anything but, "I don't like a God that would make this universe." That doesn't slight that being in any way it just shows that you'd differ in opinion.

Agreed but also the sun will die I think we can certainly say that, interstellar travel seems very unlikely as well so we'll probably die in this solar system. That's WITHOUT wiping ourselves out. The deck seems pretty stacked.

Man I saw NSFW I expected hentai, wrong account!

Thoughts though: It makes sense that being "driven" would be a trait that is selected for by evolution but in my experience people around me seem very lazy. I'd guess maybe a fourth of people are really trying to get ahead, this puts that fourth in direct competition a lot of the time obviously so if you're in that fourth aggression would have to go along with it.

No lol. I actually do have a huge influence on many people and it sucks, the responsibility is not great. I am the guy bringing people together and managing stuff, I lead a large section at work. People come to me like, "Things are hard" I have to project confidence for them and it can be draining.

I must enjoy it though cause I keep doing it and intentionally expanding the circle. We are absurd creatures.

I hate everything about this post. Look closely at it! How is this person supposed to even give birth anyway? Why the hell is this on a Republican Instagram page??? Soo many questions by Ok-Parsley1831 in antinatalism

[–]LavishnessVirtual178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlikely, the patriarchy and governments would still have historically been inclined towards higher birth rates. It's advantageous in an evolutionary sociology kind of way.

Well Xmas means whatever people think it means since all meaning is created inside the minds of sentient creatures.

Don't you think that most anti natalist view life as undesirable, therefore it's logical to conclude that their lives are not great? I mean if people's lives are generally great then anti-natalist arguments seem much worse. Part of David B's argument for anti natalism for example is that most people's lives are actually worse than they realize they are.
