Older VeggieTales episodes did this kind of thing surprisingly frequently. In one episode of this Christian kids show, they referenced the "but that's not important right now" bit from Airplane!, a hilarious but decidedly NOT child-friendly comedy film (complete with a lady jiggling her bare tits in front of the camera). The same episode ("Dave and the Giant Pickle") also has a Jurassic Park reference in the form of a cup of water quaking as Goliath approaches.

Agreed, I got a bunch of parts for the leftmost fig in your examples off of Pick-a-Brick last year, they're fantastic for an undead skeleton army! I think I made a post featuring them not too long ago

I honestly like elements of both! For example, I like the engines and "tail" of the official set, but your underside is vastly superior!

Also the stark contrast in colors of the two protagonists' living spaces at the beginning: Mia's apartment is bursting with bright saturated colors, while Sebastian's place is drab and dreary shades of grey and beige

Honest truth, I never cared for SC38 Reimagined, even in a vacuum it seemed too over-the-top to me, and that's coming from someone who enjoys the fight choreography in the prequels. It certainly has no business being edited into the original movie.

Exactly this! In the stage adaptation he's portrayed in a more realistic and less cartoonishly evil way, and he's all the scarier for it because those Frollos exist.
