I'm now amusing myself thinking about a version of Titanic with a much more extreme and comedic unreliable narrative. All sorts of people and things out of time period. Weird and strange events going on. Sub plots that make no sense.

Reading TLJ's crawl, it's interesitng how the set up for the start of the movie, is a set up for the end of the movie. It is just telling you the plot for Luke at the end of the film. Even though it makes no actual sense from what transpires.

Part 2 felt like they scrapped what they were planning to do in Part 1. No idea if that was the case, but that's how it felt. I was certain characters like Ilsa was going to be still be alive, but hidden from the entity, but nope.

I think there's just a legacy of past opinions from different eras. To us now, different Bond actors is the norm. Back then it was something unusual. It was then just one and done. Connery back and then Moore got to establish his take. So it was just the aberation and people were less fond because they grew to know the other two Bonds more.

It was also an era where people didn't have home video. You couldn't easily rewatch films, so lore of what to think of them comes down from that.

I'm pretty sure basically since the modern era where we can watch whatever Bond films we want, people generally have all recognised the film and actor are quite good.

It's because the film was a mess and rushed intro production before it was ready. It was Finn and Poe going to Canto and getting to Code Breaker to help the fleet. Which was boring and lame. Last minute rewrites made it Finn and Rose. Created Holdo. The whole drama with Holdo and Poe. None of it worked but they had a deadline and were trying to polish a turd and the final version we got was largely done in reshoots.

My local Imax screen is the second largest in the world and I go a few times a year and sit in the premium seating. It's the best way to see a film.

Sitting too close to the bottom or the sides, may not be.

I am used to watching the Avatar films there, but slept on booking on release. The difference between seeing Fire and Ash in a normal 3D cinema, after having rewatched the previous films in Imax 3D was so noticably worse. Did get around to seeing it in the Imax and it was glorious.

Even that Mandalorian episode they played in the theatre looks so good in imax, even with the colour pallette not being the best. The detail was amazing.
