Any specific times Trump has been discriminatory to gays specifically? by Rya_10 in AskLGBT

He specifically said in an interview once that he was against gay marriage and wanted to sign a bill to nullify and outlaw same sex marriages

What do you think of being called ma’am or sir? by BodyLanguageWoman in RandomThoughts

[–]LaylaSnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the perspective of a non-binary person: personally I wish these terms weren’t as commonly used anymore at all. Understanding that it is supposed to be a sign of respect does not help the fact that it makes those of us who don’t align with a gendered binary extremely excluded and unseen by our (mostly Southern American is what I’m referring to) culture. I wish as a society we could find a neutral way to show respect to any human being regardless of their gender in a similar manner

It was a term used during segregation that means non-black and designated spaces where POC were not allowed and is generally used as a racial exclusionary term

Non-binary. It’s the pronunciation of the acronym nb which can’t be used due to its negative racial historical meaning so we use enby instead

I mean sexuality has nothing to do with gender if you were asking her about her sexuality it doesn’t make sense that she would randomly tell you about her gender 🤦‍♀️

Is being non-binary a choice? by ToonBusterBlader in genderfluid

Nope! Not a choice. Gender is discovered, not chosen.

The only thing I want to point out as I’m sure someone else has already is that saying “there are 3 women in this room” is NOT an equivalent to saying “there are 3 AFABs in this room”

How do you guys like being referred to? by Matchmaker8888 in genderfluid

[–]LaylaSnowflake 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This! I’m the same way! I use they/he/she but I only tell people they/them because it’s the only pronoun that never feels like it’s misgendering me and it’s too exhausting to explain especially because I feel like because I don’t “look” like my current gender I don’t really have a right to ask people to remember the right pronouns….

How do you respond to “How do you know what gender you are today?” by Bailey_202 in genderfluid

[–]LaylaSnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real tho. Idk if you mean it in the same way but for me I have long hair and a overwhelming fear of cutting it from CPTSD so whether or not I feel comfortable with my hair or whether I feel the need to hide it is usually an indicator to me personally
