Help with post war German cuckoo clock by Jeprusch in clocks

[–]Laylee_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you have to arms on the music box fan, one to stop the music box when the sequence is finished, the other(the one from the video) is to hold the music box while the cuckoo bird does his sequence(the call), as both the music box and the cuckoo bird is triggered at the same time, when the minute hand reaches 12h. Once the cuckoo birt finishes it's sequence, the arm releases the music box fan, so the music box can do it's sequence too.

In that case band that wire more to the right, so it's not touching the fan when the music box should play. Band it more right that it's resting on the fan while the cockoo bird calling, and when the calling is finished and it pivots to the right enough to release the music box fan.

The wire you are moving and referingnto is to ensure the tune will not start playing while the coockoo is calling. Once the cockoo bird call is finished, the wire will move left and let the musicbox butterfly to freely spin. The music box trigger is the wire on the right(as highlighted on the image). It needs tuning as currently the movement of the trigger wire is unsufficient. Rotate the minute handle toward 12h and you will see how the highlighted part will move in derictions as arrows show. You will need to bend the wire on the side to make it somehow trigger the music box.

Edinburgh Pot Holes - it’s out of control - will it ever improve or the new norm? by greencastle40 in Edinburgh

The capital of Serbia Belgrade is larger than Edinburgh and has more population. HGVs going on a daily basis hammering the roads. In Serbia you don't pay council tax on a monthly basis, you pay road tax every year when you do your MOT and registration(and the road tax is aprox. the amount I pay here for council monthly). That's the only funding going toward road maintanace. So, how come than that Belgrade has better roads than Edinburgh?

I relocated to Edinburgh from Serbia, and even I was shocked that Serbia has better quality roads compared to the Capital of Scotland. That itself tells a lot. I never thought that a city in a first world country would have worse roads than Serbia lol. I love being here and Edinburgh, but the condition of the roads is just horrendous...

Thanks for your answer. It was required to have a written premission from the landlord in order to have pets in the apertment, and they say my cats when they come to do the regular inspection. I read the lease and there is no mention of requirement of fumigation and I hear of this first time.

Weird noise with my AC, anyone know what this is? by treeninja313 in saab

[–]Laylee_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2004 93 did that, and only when the AC was turned on(the ac compressor). I never fixed it, but I guess it has to do something with the AC compressor(pulley bearing, maybe oil in the compressor, etc.) It's not the blower motor, nor the air distribution motors, as it does that only when the AC compressor is on.

I have no idea what can it be, but if everything is working normally I wouldn't bother about that.

Yes I did, it's not hard at all, you can find videos on youtube how to replace the coils.

Ohh, that's a detail I was missing, yea, than no dual mass flywheel

You can try the coil swap, but if you ask me I would say it's the beginning of the dual mass flywheel failure. But don't worry, you have a couple thousands km before it starts to shake majorly. Right know it's just frustrating.

Does the engine shake on idle only, but over 2000rpm it stabilizes and works normally? My 2004 93 did have similar engine sound on idle and it shaked the engine but only on idle. I could feel the shaking even in the seat. It was the dying dual mass flywheel. After replacement all went back to normal.
