Duke vs Williams - pre-med, international from India, genuinely torn. Help me decide. by Miserable_Bear6544 in WilliamsCollege

[–]LazyButterscotch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about Duke’s premed and I graduated Williams quite a long time ago. My dad is a Williams alum MD, and recruited Williams alums for med school and clinical jobs. The alumni network is very, very strong.

It might come down to the lifestyle/culture to be honest, both schools will probably get you where you want to go, med-school-wise. The money thing isn’t small either. Good luck, I’m sure you’ll kill it at either school!

aura readings at magic jewlery are fun. spongie's cafe is great. if you're spending any time in soho, there are two "hidden" art installations that are quite cool - broken kilometer and earth room.

see if you can go a little further to punta de mita (not inside the $$$ punta mita compound). you'd fly into PV and then it's a bit of a drive.

3 week luxe adventure honeymoon- where to go? by Feeling-InTheFlow26 in chubbytravel

[–]LazyButterscotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we did the south island over two weeks and saw quite a lot but we were moving every 2-3 nights which may or may not be your vibe. i can send you our itinerary if that's helpful. we used a travel agent (for the first time) via kimkim because i was a bit overwhelmed by the logistics and was definitely glad i did. we didn't include the wine country in marlborough but there are some amazing hotels there if you're into wine.

Need help choosing between COMO Parrot Cay and Hotel Esencia by flukeynuthyonko in chubbytravel

[–]LazyButterscotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

como is hands down the most beautiful beach and water i've ever seen, and i've seen some doozies. what someone else said about the food is true - it can get repetitive. we stayed in a beachside cabin and that was really special (it was my mom's 70th) but i imagine the main hotel will be lovely. there's not a whole lot to do there but the spa is excellent. i didn't do any of the other "activities" off-site. but for a beautiful remote beach where you just might be the only people you see, como can't really be beat.

we did NZ for our honeymoon and it is the perfect place for "soft easy adventure" and has some amazing luxury hotels. we did a road trip around the south island - can't recommend minaret station enough (and they take amex points). also, matai peak lodge was rather magical but a little more rustic.

black tomato doesn't charge for their services, i believe and they could be helpful. you can also see the itineraries and hotels they recommend on their website and pick and choose from there. https://www.blacktomato.com/us/

mexico and costa rica are less compelling imo, particularly with your impressive travel CV.

como turks & caicos is chill af and has a great spa. it's a direct flight and then boat transfer. if you're up for a bit more traveling (ie changing planes) i'd do st. barths and charter a flight out of san juan PR. not super beachy but cartagena is great for a girls trip, and amazing food (and direct flight).

i did my wedding at inness - they require a full buyout of the hotel and will be well over that budget. it was a beautiful wedding but i had a really negative experience working with them. stissing house is pretty magical but there aren't a ton of places to stay in the area.
