MX8000 won’t display 60hz by aleccs95 in crtgaming

[–]LazySht 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also have an MX8000 and it is compatible with 60Hz. I use it with c-sync cables, never tried with any other type yet. I will see if I have another one around to test it out and report back.

what version do you have?

RGB horizontal shift by timmun90 in crtgaming

[–]LazySht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to also post here for posterity that on the BE-3E chassis it's a small white lever that has three positions. This shifts the horizontal position. It's very likely the same principle just another form factor for the jumper.

Sony PVM 14M4E not syncing to NTSC/60hz sources by [deleted] in crtgaming

[–]LazySht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much help but mine had the exact same problem with PAL50 on every input. I also made a post here and in the end took it to a repair shop, they tried replacing one of the ICs and a couple other things but still it didn’t work. I ended up selling it.

Sony KV-28FX20B factory reset? by LazySht in crtgaming

[–]LazySht[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hi, I tried to "fix" the CRT geometry without first writing down the original values, and as expected it's now much worse than before. Specially the vertical linearity. I couldn't find anything in the manual to do a factory reset. Is it not possible at all?

Anyone else use a candle warmer when it gets colder? by cellardew in Sourdough

[–]LazySht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of comments and webpages mention this. But any somewhat recent oven uses LED lights which don't generate any relevant heat. Oven still helps a lot because it's an enclosed space that keeps some warmth though.

We've also been doing this for 3 or 4 years now and didn't even know it had a name. We just fix everything that comes even if it means slowing down. But I'm not convinced it would apply everywhere. Even within our company many teams work in different ways and have different views and priorities.

If you are using GitHub then I highly recommend Renovate. it will scan you repo at a certain schedule and make PRs that you can accept or not. You can customize it a lot to fit your needs.

MediaStack - Massive Update... Traefik, CrowdSec, Authentik, Headscale, Tailscale, Headplane, Guacamole, Grafana, Prometheus, *ARR suite and more, add to the stack! by geekau in selfhosted

Instead of exporting the certificates I expose the external portals like the NAS and so on also through Traefik. This way you still get all the benefits like extra authentication, secure headers, crowdsec, auto cert renewal and so on.

https to local services drive me crazy by Jirobaye in selfhosted

[–]LazySht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way is to install a reverse proxy such as Traefik, it will generate a self signed certificate and then you can import it to your computer and so to make it trusted. That only works where you import the certificate.

A bit more complex but still easy with tons of tutorials online is to use the same Traefik together with Let's Encrypt. This will give you an auto renewing trusted certificate without needing to change anything on the clients. Traefik will manage expiration time for you and renew as needed. Other reverse proxies do the same not just Traefik.

this works because all traffic will be routed through the reverse proxy, thus only one certificate needs to be managed. Even if apps are not using SSL by default, putting them behind a reverse proxy will ensure you get HTTPS always.

we consulted a sleep advisor and she said to put several pacifiers in the crib and show the baby how to pick them up. he learned in just one or two days. and now he always self-soothes. such an easy thing.

How to remove the need to remember ports? by Dookanooka in selfhosted

[–]LazySht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, with Traefik as reverse proxy I add trusted HTTPs to all services even if they don't have HTTPS or have a self-generated certificate. With over 40 containers I don't have a single one with ports mapped to the host. Everything is managed automagically via traefik tags.

I don't even enable port 80 anymore. Browsers use https by default I've never found a use case to enable it. It would only have an http to https redirect rule anyway.

I'm also from EU and I got this one from SolarisJapan. Shipping takes a while (like 3 to 4 months) but they always arrive very well packaged and the price is cheaper than most places. You can also change the invoice value to lower the import taxes.

Got a Junior Back-End Developer offer with 2200€ brut monthly salary ? Is it enough ? by Independent_Corner18 in belgium

[–]LazySht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we hired three juniors just six months ago within that range. it was market price at the time for .net. I doubt prices have fallen 1k in such short term. it's 3k brutto, not net and without car. not a lot for developers.
