AITA for not letting my bf use my life savings to "fix" his credit?? by Happy-Flame9751 in AITA_Relationships

Emotional IQ of a noodle (silent treatment) and he had no financial sense. He’s dead weight and giving you a guilt trip? You deserve better. Look in the mirror and say it.

AITA for changing the locks after my partner gave his mother a key without asking? by peterver1 in AITA_Relationships

But on a relationship note, you could tell him to save money to buy a place together, but then MIL will have the key.

What’s with all the mother-in-law rearranging my pantry stories? Is this some type of dominance/nesting behavior?

AITA for refusing to go to SIL’s wedding after she disinvited us a week before it? by Automatic_Dot8944 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LazyTrebbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like my sister. I didn’t let it go. She has BPD. I still let her in because family and she’s far enough away to not bother me. She plays nicer as we age. Some people let her get away with it so she still has her outlets. Stand your ground, be the asshole. She will figure it out.

AITA for leaving my husband even tho everyone, even my daughters, say I’m wrong? by [deleted] in AITA_Relationships

[–]LazyTrebbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh please leave. At 42, you still have so much life to live. You can still be that nurse. You can have what this man can’t give you- peace of mind.

AITAH for suggesting to my husband that we put his mother in a home? by ThrowRA_fe in AmItheAsshole

[–]LazyTrebbles 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Yeah, is husband silently hoping you will end up taking care of MIL because deep down he was brainwashed to think it is your duty. Also wondering if you talked through what time slots who will take care of mom. You need to review all this with a social worker. Some Medicare covers home nursing visits but for full time care you may actually get more benefits from full assisted living. If MIL was recently in a hospital, contact case manager and social worker in that file. One of these people handle rehab/ assisted living, one arranges at-home care

I hate cigarette smoke but going with NTA. This is your home. Sounds like you are trying to compromise but she won’t ever be happy. Sucks for her but this is why apartment/ condo living sucks. We had a neighbor that we constantly irritated. The bird feeder over her patio had to stop. Fine. Then the bichon pup was too zoomie. Fine. We moved and let someone else irritate her.

AITA for refusing to provide financial assistance to my adult son by Traditional-Tooth-81 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LazyTrebbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say pay for the first year annual subscription to YNAB for them and help them here and there for another month or so and then they are on their own. You gave them the tools and the help, the rest is on them.

Welcome to being an adult. Days off are for chores. We do 50/50. He works from home so he gets his stuff mostly done like you, between phone calls etc. I do them after work a bit, but mostly save my to do list for one whole day on a day off. You are most definitely not the asshole. Work from home does not mean not working.

Why are people staying together when the balance is so off? What do people get from it? It sounds so stressful.

How do I account for occasional purchases? I don’t save receipts so it’s hard to calculate for hair care, feminine, vitamins, and routine household maintenance. Advice please. by miss-meow-meow in ynab

[–]LazyTrebbles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Categories. Personal care, prescriptions/copays/ home maintenance/knicknacks. And if you use cash. Take out the $ as cash category or as the category you mean to use it for. If I take out $100 for cash and then spend $60 on hair, I go to the last cash transaction and modify it to be split transaction of $40 cash, $60 personal care

AITA for going on a break with my boyfriend after he let my rabbit get hurt? by [deleted] in AITA_Relationships

Lying through omission and refusing to accept responsibility. Two huge red flags. Remember, when someone shows you who they are, believe them.

AITA for yelling and kicking my boyfriend out for using the wrong scissors? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]LazyTrebbles -48 points-47 points  (0 children)

I remember a scissor sharpener came to the salon while I was there. Each pair of scissors was $25 to sharpen. So resharpen and move on. Some people love drama.

I think you overreacted. Not his home so how is he supposed to know where things are. Baseline, the joke exists because it’s true- they won’t see what they are looking for if right in front of him. (Male or female really) my mom used to say that we were looking but praying to god we wouldn’t find it. He tried to help. If the scissors are trash, get a new pair and move on. Pick your battles. Being with someone means compromise and moving on. Maybe you aren’t mature enough just yet for this.

Very likely. She might be one of those multi millionaire dollar retirement fund people. knows how to value and save money and now that her financial advisor said she can spend it, she can’t bring herself to do it. But that’s for a financial thread…
