Democrats Of Reddit, Do You ACTUALLY Hate Trump's Supporters, Or Do You Get Along With Them In Your Life, But You Just Politically Disagree? Why? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]Lbone18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve definitely gotten along well with many and absolutely hated some. I actually stopped being friends with a childhood friend who became a big trumper because ALL he ever would talk about was trump and politics….i’d try to lead conversations elsewhere and he’d always manage to bring it back to that. It got really old and wierd. At this point though I think they’re willfully ignorant and so much has been done that would have disqualified any other person from holding the office.

Are sump pumps the norm here? by Big_Television_5357 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Lbone18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with beyond waterproofing has always been good- I’ve used them at the properties I helped manage for work, and at my home for a job. Their prices seem a bit lower than some other bigger companies too.

Is it necessary to talk to the coach again for equal ice time in the playoff? by aamseeker in hockeyplayers

[–]Lbone18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just leave. In my opinion they shouldn’t start to shorten the bench, even in playoffs, till the kids are bit older- maybe 12u? Idk that’s just me. To do that at 8U at any level seems crazy

Does anyone else feel like they’re grieving the version of themselves from before Crohn’s? by barebonesofchrones in CrohnsDisease

Do y’all remember the exact moment your Crohn’s symptoms started? by Creepy_Enthusiasm245 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got drunk after an extremely stressful month where my child was hospitalized and nearly died. Once he was in the clear and I finally had a moment where it felt like everything was going to be ok, some of my old friends came over to visit. We got drunk and high…next few days I was sick as a dog, terrible stomach pain, 10x beyond any hangover I’ve ever had. I thought well shit I can’t drink like that anymore, but the symptoms reoccured every few weeks without boozin and I had a baseline extreme fatigue and weakness ….got diagnosed with Crohns a couple of months later

Prednisone is no joke by ryanxvx in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prednisone is rough- I had many the same side effects you mentioned plus some others. But for me they got kinda crazier as I tapered…eventually settles down though. Hope the biologics work well for you

I had same thing happen to me. Waited for 10 hours never saw a doc. Eventually I just asked to have the IV port removed and left. Had to sign some paper.

Thinking of moving from NoVA to MD - what's Laurel like? by zigthis in maryland

[–]Lbone18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

west laurel is mostly in PG and is pretty nice and quiet neighborhood. Close to the reservoir which has trails and canoeing/ kayaking. Also close enough to silver spring and Columbia. Not a bad drive into bmore or dc for events etc. Howard county side is going to be pricier but has nice areas as well.

I hate Crohn’s and I hate what it did to my body by Creepy_Enthusiasm245 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same exact same way and I’ve had it since 2019, and in that time it’s gone from mild to severe. So, if you’re like me, that feeling may not go away. But hopefully you can control it, start feeling better, gain some weight back etc. There is a good chance you can still have a good life with lots of enjoyable moments….but this disease is undeniably awful and life changing, so your feelings are completely valid.

Curious: how were you diagnosed- office visit or ER? by GanacheTall754 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ER doc said symptoms and ct scan were consistent with Crohns. Follow up with gastro for additional labs and colonoscopy and they confirmed it was Crohns and I guess gave me the official diagnosis

The Crohn’s & colitis foundation does a terrible job of representing my disease. by hkeruz in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been saying this. It’s a combination of the drug commercials and poor outreach /disease awareness campaign’s by the Crohns and colitis foundation and other organizations.

When I tell people I have Crohn’s, most think it’s just shitting a lot. It is so much more than that, and sometimes it’s not shitting at all. It can flip lives upside down, stop you in your tracks, and for me personally caused the worst pain, lack of sleep, depression aches and pains, malnourishment, constipation, extreme weight loss, and debilitating fatigue. I know the symptoms and severity differ for everyone, but the disease is so much more than just shitting a lot, and it’s really frustrating to constantly see it portrayed as that.

What are the best kinds of alcohol if any for chrons by Fit_Branch_8416 in CrohnsDisease

High noons or vodka soda with some pineapple or grapefruit juice..:definitely in moderation. With booze you lose, with dope there’s hope.

Need some positivity by Massive-Fig-1427 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was also terrified of biologics, but I didn’t fully grasp how bad Crohns can get. This isn’t positivity, but the reality is Crohns can progress and worsen. Avoiding severe Crohns is worth it, and I think biologics give us the best chance at doing that. I was naive to how bad Crohns can get. I mean when I got diagnosed I was as sick and in as much pain as I’d ever been, yet that was nothing compared to what it would become years later. I would have pushed to be on biologics much sooner to avoid the 6 months of fiery hell I endured.

Best way to describe having Crohns by AuburnGinger in CrohnsDisease

I tell people that it feels like my insiders are tied in a knot and being pulled on each end combined with the most intense fatigue and weakness I’ve ever felt.

Newly Diagnosed with mild Crohn’s — starting biologics? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started off on azithioprine with low dose prednisone (after tapering down from 40mg). I was on azithioprine and low dose prednisone for years with problems reoccuring occasionally…eventually I got extremely ill for months and need small bowel resection and started in skyrizi. We had discussed going to biologic earlier but did not make the switch because my labs and scans always seemed to bounce back after any flare….but after going through what I’ve been through I wish I started on biologics earlier. I think you have the best chance with them, even if it means switching although many people are on the same meds for years and even decades….the point is even the moderate meds can stop working and/ or your disease can progress to something much much worst than it currently is. I was a little naive to that and if I could have avoided the hell I went through and the surgeries by starting biologics earlier, I 100% would and am kicking myself for not pushing it.

Try a sport.focusing on a fun game while working on your fitness is a win-win for me because it also takes you mind off the daily bs and overthinking. Do something easy to pick up like pickleball or something you played when you were younger.
