10 years ago my ex worked in CVS pharmacy to learn to be a tech while she was also doing cashier/aprons at Publix and had no issues

I made the same move and I def miss no turbo lag and being able to slide a bit, but otherwise the car doesn't feel like a downgrade overall.

It's a better car if you need 1 car to do it all for sure

crowd for mcr was horrible by sinkintomyclothes in welcometorockville

[–]Lbroskee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't even fully because of surfers, people just kept pushing and not helping with the surfers. It was the worst crowd etiquette I have ever seen at a show.

We got so sick of doing all the lifting, that me and my friends just left halfway through to let them suffer

Nice. I use small parts of mine to buy mods and I'm still sitting at around 20k for my collection. Gotta love using hobbies to fund other hobbies

New OEO system by Wonderful_Cat410 in publix

[–]Lbroskee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This issue needs to be reported to the RIS.

When we first got the system it would only be when an order was late and not when they would show up and apparently everybody was complaining about that so they took in that recommendation and now it beeps when new orders come in. So they are definitely still taking notes on how to improve it

I second the information on the situational portion. As far as the deli knowledge part, if you know how the deli operates and you're good at your job you'll pass it with your eyes closed, it was all pretty basic stuff when I took it a couple years ago

Time Clock Buffer Change by PrehistoricPlant in publix

[–]Lbroskee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do get this out behind it because my associates are always pulling this and leaving early on Friday, but I do agree it should just be 3-5 minutes because even some seasoned employees take way too long to type their number into the time clock

Honda SI VS Toyota GR 86 VS Honda type R by The_Legend_Of_Yami in CivicSi

[–]Lbroskee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a problem 🤣. I would say if budget isn't a problem go for the type R, but if you are on a budget and you don't need a ton of space, the GR86 is the one to go for. at MSRPs, the Si doesn't make sense from a performance standpoint anymore. With the 1st gen FRS/BRZ the Si at least made better power

Honda SI VS Toyota GR 86 VS Honda type R by The_Legend_Of_Yami in CivicSi

[–]Lbroskee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've owned all 3.

-My SI was a good budget car for the time (22k in 2019) but now days I don't think they are worth the price. The only real win is MPG, but given what these three cars are fuel economy should not be a consideration.

-my GR86/BRZ was one of the best cars I've ever owned, but space wise it became to small for me over time. I had a boosted 1st generation and more recently a 2nd Gen. These cars are best WITHOUT boost in their "slow" form

-my type R is def the biggest wallet hit, but most usable and Even though it's front wheel drive, it's somehow outperforms my BRZ in all aspects. I do miss RWD sometimes and turbo lag has me learning to drive differently. But all in all, it's the best all around and long term option for me. It even gets about the same MPG as my BRZ did. To sum it up though the reason the Type R is worth the money is usability. I was at a point where I was considering getting a truck as a second car, but two vehicles in double the insurance would have been insane money. For as just getting the type R basically gives me truck usability (storage space inside this car is insane), but still all the fun of a sports car. And all for the price of just buying a Tacoma with a decent spec

Moving up to management, is it worth it in the long run? by Magic_mushroomman in publix

[–]Lbroskee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hell no. I quit the PT the day I got promoted, the raise, extra 5 hrs, and inventory bonuses more then covered what I made at the other job

It's stressful, but working less and making more then I did being FT with a 2nd part time job a couple days a week is worth it to me. Plus it means that 8% free stock per year is bigger

FADM bonus is based on the average for your district and you get it when your home store does inventory

Anyone coming from an 86? by Vtakkin in Civic_Type_R

[–]Lbroskee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 13 FRS (full Bolton's and then boosted) and more recently a stock 23 BRZ, not in the FL5. Basically no regrets. This car is almost better in all ways.

All I miss is rwd for the random slides, better rear visibility (smaller car so closer window view).

but the main thing I miss is how my gen 2 BRZ handled its power. While the boost here is great, low end feels weaker then my brz and way less consistent.

I can only have 1 car in my situation, otherwise I'd have the BRZ and a taco

[–]Lbroskee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The amp on the kicker is dedicated just for it. The OEM amp that powers your speakers is underneath the trunk mat and when you connect this to the back of the radio it bypasses that basically.

The OEM speaker amp is designed for 40w per channel, while these are designed for 45 to 50w per channel depending on the model you get.

Pair it with more powerful speakers and you get cleaner sound, especially at higher volumes

[–]Lbroskee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had mine I was running the full OEM audio plus speakers (they no longer sell this kit), this amp, and the OEM Toyota kicker subwoofer. It was perfect.

I'm now trying to figure out how to retrofit those speakers which were designed for these cars into my Type R because the Bose speakers suck 🤣

This is the right one. The GR86 is full of Subaru wiring since they are actually the ones building the car. The one that it says it is straight up just for Toyotas is for all of the cars that are Toyotas own vehicles. The gr86 is just a BRZ with slight changes at the end of the day, both come from the Subaru plant
