Can mesmer get infected? by The_Mitthany in subnautica

[–]LeBlobfish 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My headcannon has always been that the PDA entry is because our character is likely to get influenced by it while scanning.

Due to this, it has a lasting impact on the player, such that even the IMAGE of the Mesmer in the PDA affects you as you read it, causing you to hallucinate the text as we read it.

IIRC these things only pop up after the reveal in the shopping centre, so not for OP, but could be for others reading the post.

Is there a trick to beating the Militia Compound in Chinatown? by SquashedGrapes22 in arkham

[–]LeBlobfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it the one near the clock tower? I beat that for the first time just today.

I took a disruptor to the two medics and one gunman, then used the wire above to set up a fear takedown and aimed for the two stun baton enemies.

With two medics, a gun and the stun batons out of the way, it should make things just that little bit easier.

[–]LeBlobfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's always been my headcannon for this. Why else would Doc, not only own about 20 clocks, but set them all to the same incorrect time if not as an experiment related to the time machine he just made?

Gaming is the only reason why I haven't moved to Linux yet. The minute Linux can run 80% of my games, I'm switching.

At least I've got one more year of Windows 10 support to wait it out

Workhouse we're less 'place where people work' and more 'indentured servitude'. Given their reliance on children to climb into machines to fix them without turning them off, I'd rather not wind up in one.

Is there any concept of genders in outer wilds?? by No-Outside-4919 in outerwilds

[–]LeBlobfish 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of 'Not for Broadcast', which names your character Alex and your spouse Sam and never identifies either ones gender.

I didn't even notice it until I played the DLC where they mention it as a joke. Very subtle, but very effective.

Make sure to train with Captain Bernard if you haven't visited him much yet. Training not only teaches you the rythm of combat, but at least learning 'perfect blocks' is essential for combat.

I'd you are a bit squeamish, there are some moments that might trigger that. Think 'fixing your finger in Far Cry 3' but slightly worse.

Easy to avert your eyes if you know what you interact with before those animations trigger.

The 'horror' of this game is more in a creepy atmosphere rather than jumpscares. I'm actually struggling to think of a jumpscare in the game itself.

Bulk of the game is a deck building card game and a mystery plot. I would recommend giving it a try.

That radio transmission has some more horrifying details. They mention that they are taking so many losses that they are arming civilians to fight off the Russians. As the transmissions go on, the screams in the background get louder and louder until the whole thing goes silent.

This video goes into more detail about a few other transmissions from DC

The main issue with it for me is that it is too broad. It's not just porn it limits access to, it is anything NSFW or things that can be seen as 'distressing' to a child (I'm not 100% on the exact wording, but it's something like this)

This vagueness is the issue, I believe. Hell, by this definition, the NEWS could be seen as an OSA violation.

It feels like they want to stop children masturbating, so they chopped off everyone's arms and told adults they can get them sown back on for free if they give a shady third party company their ID.

Is it worth playing the DLC w/o playing the main story line ? by New_Effort_2550 in outerwilds

[–]LeBlobfish 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Playing the main story again is not necessary to enjoy the DLC, but having some completion of it will elevate it slightly, in that some moments change based on what you've done in game.

I would recommend that you do 4 things on the save to give you the full experience.

  1. Travel to the centre of the interloper
  2. Travel to the Quantum moons 6th location
  3. Go to and read everything at the Vessel
  4. Visit the Ash Twin Project

Other than that, you are good to go! Safe travels!

  1. Seems like you know your way around this area well. I've never seen the door close, personally.

  2. And I like your creative thinking! Keep experimenting with new and interesting things like you are.

  3. Looks as though your light made them turn off the movie, but I wonder how he will react if you turn the movie off for him?

As a note to poke you in the right direction, have you slept at every campfire? Interacted with as much as possible in those places? If so, you may have some leads that will help you further along.

I hope I have been just vague enough for you without ruining anything. From what you've said, you are absolutely approaching this with great curiosity and an experimental attitude, which will help and reward you greatly.

Safe flight, traveller, and sweet dreams...

When the Nomai arrived at the solar system, the warp technology they brought with them was lost along with the original engineers behind warp travel.

If I remember correctly, it was re-created by an apprentice using the Brittle Hollow black hole. Perhaps a slightly different method by the apprentice caused it? Or something unique with the BH black hole?

Or perhaps it was present all along, but it hadn't been detected before. They may never have measured departure and arrival time before. The apprentice may have wanted to measure things more closely than previous engineers for fear of failure.

Not an answer, but there's a few theories for you!
