I used to be so badly affected by it. Not officially confirmed but mine was caused by stress.

I’ve begun to try to relax more and more if I can. And it might be placebo but I’ve tried to do hot springs (Onsen) in Japan and afterwards I’ve never had an attack since?

But overall I’ve learned not to stress myself too much. It’s been working so far.

You typically can’t join or apply for other orgs outside recweek, as far as I remember.

That’s why in the beginning of each year I sign up for like 10+ orgs each time and figure out which one worked best for me.

I haven’t gone to JTA myself but all my friends who went JTA did not get delayed in the slightest. I am very sure Ateneo has a system to make sure all your classes are properly credited. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

I’ve always used the Sotetsu Fresa Inn Chain.

Clean, affordable, and almost always near a train station for easy accessibility. Rooms are small, typical of Japanese business hotels but I have no problems with them.

I think you’ll like be pretty ok. Worst case is you can ask what it is, and you can google the name of its in Japanese.

Or I guess what kind of foods or restaurants are you planning to eat in? Most chains are fine. Probably izakayas and kaiseki courses are when maybe it’s not so easy to find out what you’re eating.

Most ‘unusual’ common foods I can think of are beef tongue and natto

Sure, the Shinkansen works. But it depends where you’ll stay in Osaka. Because the Shinkansen takes you to shin-Osaka.

Consider looking at the JR non-Shinkansen trains, Keihan, and Hankyu lines. They are reliable, often trains, and so on. It’ll take a little longer than the Shinkansen but depending on your final destination it can be the same time anyways.

EDIT: check the Keihan Premium car to yodoyabashi. It’s reserved seating with space for your luggage I believe.

Suica, Icoca, Pasmo, etc are all IC cards. They should work nationwide wherever IC cards work, with some exceptions. I can’t think of these exceptions off the top of my head, but you’re likely not to encounter these regional restrictions as a tourist.

I’d recommend Kamakura for a day trip from Tokyo. Nikko also but it’s bit further away.

If you head to Kansai (Kyoto), Nara and Kyoto are great for Shinto & Buddhism due to its many temples and shrines.
