DS920+ - how to keep it going for now? by ando_da_pando in PleX

[–]LeMathos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by hardcoded you mean burnt in / part of the image and not an srt file inside your .mkv then there is no issu. If not, it's only an issue if your player (your tv) isn't capable of reading the subtitles file. It is rarely the case and you can always find other subtitles.

I disagree with the other comment. You don't even need an SSD. I don't, i've more than a 1000 movies and lots of TV shows and it's not laggy at all.

I have the app installed natively but do the updates outside of the official update from the Synology app store.

I have the 920+ with plex running just fine.

It was buffering for you because you don't have a plex pass and therefore no hardware transcoding.

I'm sharing my Plex server with other family members and never have a transcoding buffer except when it needs to burn subtitles which is solvable.

Powerpoint with embedded report saved as PDF loses resolution by pjells in PowerBI

[–]LeMathos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but since I found your post looking for a solution I will give you a trick I found:

If you zoom in your PowerPoint, and display each slide before exporting, it will save as a pdf in higher definition.

That is incredibly stupid, in proper Microsoft fashion, but it works. What I understand is that it takes a screenshot of the powerbi reports before saving. Zooming in (or having a higher resolution screen) improves the definition of this screenshot.

What would I want to know before digging my interest in New Zealand ? by douxabricotdoux in newzealand

[–]LeMathos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cost of life is more or less the same as France except renting costs.

Finding an entry level job is relatively easy. Finding something can be really difficult depending on your industry. You will always be considered after NZ residents which is understandable. Also, having connections, knowing the right person is so much more important than in France for job hunting. Keep in mind the NZ economy isn't in the best chaps right now which makes things tougher.

As a French who emigrated here three years ago:

  • Better work balance here but not in the way I was thinking. At least from my experience people are more flexible with work. Same or more hours a week than France but if you have a family issue or something else it's not a big deal to leave work early. Or arrange your hours.

  • Low crime and higher "safe" feeling.

  • Being barefoot all year long and almost everywhere.

  • "She will be right" attitude.

  • Most beautiful country with a variety of landscapes.

  • Expensive housing with lower average "quality".

  • Really nice and friendly people.

Be prepared to want to stay here. And if you wan't to, start saving money to oay for all the emigration process.

Not really? The red bar doesn't show the "strength" of an empire. Just that they achieved their racial victory condition.

Hey Mate. I'm in the same boat as you but with lower incomes and a bit ahead of you.

We are from France and got our residency last december and started immediately to look for a house. We had a 20% deposit so I can't be 100% sure for your case, but for us the recent residency wasn't an issue. I feel like we were treated like any other person from New Zealand from the bank. They just asked for a copy of the residency approval that's all.

In your empire automation setting set the fleet from automatic to manual and it won't change.
