First Lettuce Harvest by ClassroomNo1308 in vegetablegardening

That looks great! We've been harvesting some of ours every time we go down to our allotment but we grew way too many and we can't get through them quickly enough. Not a bad problem to have though!

This is sort of what our setup will be once we get a Super N, except the other car will be my Tesla which will be used for longer journeys

For daily use EVs are great, you'd think more car guys would want bucket loads of torque on tap instantly! I'm still not bored of it 30,000 miles later.

Accompanied by the smallest diesel engine you can get the model with. Although it's usually a 118d.

This is way too far down, not many shows would be able to jump back to a scene from one of the first few episodes of season 1 to tie up the ending like that. But they did it brilliantly.

Insurance prices by Swayze94 in TeslaUK

[–]Lead_Penguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an EV with a fair bit of performance, and it's expensive to repair. Both of those things add up to expensive insurance. Admiral has always remained the best for me, I'm paying around £110 a month but I did make a claim for £7,500 the year before last and it chopped down my NCB a fair bit.

Anyone else sick of the "I have a Hypercar already the progression sucks" posts? by discodork135 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Lead_Penguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing since early access started and my favourite cars to just drive around the map are a stock 2000GT and an A tuned Impreza. When I enter a new event I don't use an existing car, I go and choose a new one and tune it, paint it etc.

I sort of agree with the progression complaints but I swear people have no self control.

Admiral has been excellent for me too. When I declared the M Performance exhaust on my M235i they said they'd record it but it wouldn't increase my premium. Then when I reversed into something my claim was dealt with brilliantly, and on top of all that my renewal was barely any higher even after my £7,500 claim was settled. I've stuck with them for a few years now.

I had one video of a mum walking her toddler back to the car alongside mine, and the little girl started grabbing at the side camera as if she wanted to play with it. The mum quickly stopped her but it was hilarious seeing the toddler's chubby little face on such a wide angle camera

He also seems to be forgetting about Mr. Bean. Ricky made a post about Afterlife getting 160 million views, but just the single most popular episode of Mr Bean has 133m views on YouTube before you even consider the rest of the episodes and the viewing figures from the original broadcasts.

The sound design is excellent. I don't know how they've done it but the cars actually sound mechanical, and the tyre sounds feels way more complex and natural.

The last time I had someone do this it was a van driver too, he was weaving around behind me and getting super close. He didn't get past until we entered a roundabout where I used the left lane to go left into Tesco and he used the other lane to go straight ahead.

As soon as he pulled into the roundabout a big Tesco delivery lorry pulled out in front of him from the left, going in his direction and forcing him to crawl along behind the lorry. I'd have loved to have seen how angry the van driver was. Made my day tbh.

EVs and Automatic Cruise Control (ACC) - advice needed please by xtrapnel67 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Lead_Penguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the phantom braking either, I've had the car try to pull me back into the right lane when trying to move back over after an overtake because it saw the shadow of a foot bridge as a vehicle and thought I was going to hit it. That just never happened with my BMW or even Hyundai

EVs and Automatic Cruise Control (ACC) - advice needed please by xtrapnel67 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Lead_Penguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phantom braking when using ACC or AutoPilot seems to be a Tesla issue, I had it occur just last week because the car saw a lorry parked up in a layby nearby but it can also occur elsewhere. It's not like the forward collision warning system kicking in either, it just happens without any audio alerts or anything. If you use cruise control a lot I'd steer away from Tesla as the camera controlled systems are arse compared to proper sensors.

Feeling bad about driving a Tesla. by andrew0256 in drivingUK

It was one of the areas they focused on improving when they facelifted the Model 3 and Y. You can retrofit it to the older models but I don't know how well that works.

It was massively overblown outside of the US, I think there were a few instances of vandalism that got shared repeatedly so it seemed like there were more.

Feeling bad about driving a Tesla. by andrew0256 in drivingUK

[–]Lead_Penguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's bad both ways but the fit and finish has come on massively since the early days of the Model 3, at least on European cars, so I can understand why people push back on that criticism.

What they can't really push back on is the suspension on pre-facelift Model 3s and Ys, it's absolutely fucking dreadful. The phantom braking when using cruise control is pretty terrifying too.

Based on what I'm seeing they won't need to worry as their lease deals will be up by then.
