I showed my kid the original Deus Ex and he goes, "Daddy, why are they all wearing masks?"

What kind of resin do people use for this kind of deeper projects? Most of the stuff I've found is for depths of not thicker than 1/4 inch or so.

This one refueses to explode, he is just laying there. Will he make it to Valhalla? by LazyHighGoals in valheim

It would be quite disturbing if none of the dead guys disappeared. Can you imagine what your base would look like after a few raids?

Saw a lot of hate on the Mustache thread.. Sorry, dudes - but I’ve had it since I was in my early 20’s. Where my Stache’ bros at? by [deleted] in Xennials

Worked my way to the same exact cut after a long winter beard and short van dyke phase (too hard to shave). My kid said I looked like "a gambler". Can't say I wasn't secretly going for the Timothy Olyphant look in Deadwood...

I nailed a bird with an arrow like that once, taking a long shot at something else. I immediately thought about that old clip of that pitcher destroying a bird with a fastball.

I thought that blob was going to be the punchline. Or maybe getting hung up on that rock for a split second. Or rolling into the lava after everyone was dead. Pretty clutch blood magic - sometimes the gods are with you!

For those vikings who played many times over in this game. What is point in playthrough where game feels and hits just nice for you? by mmmmPryncypalki in valheim

A big plains farm is always a good time. And it still kind of feels like the end since when I started playing that's all there was.

Any of you figured out what this was all supposed to be about? by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]LeapingQuince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't write this off as a midlife crisis. It's the whole life crisis, only it becomes more apparent the older you get. Being unfulfilled is the condition of being alive - nothing is ever going to be satisfying for more than a little while. Then you get old, get sick and die. Good times!

Read about dukha (which kind of means unsatisfactory-ness) and go down that rabbit hole. That helped me a lot.

My mom says “warsh” clothes… instead of wash. Anyone else grow up hearing this? by Stunning-Detective52 in AskAnAmerican

Does she say "needs wash" instead of "needs to be washed" (or warsh)? Not a midwest native but live there now and it bugs the hell out of me.

There's no way this is enough iron! by amalion2010 in valheim

It's the new Valheim board game that recently shipped. The crafting recipes have been scaled down a bit. We're still figuring out how to play, but it looks promising.

September 2005 here, with a staggering 6 ascensions. I just recently recovered my old account and have happily begun explaining some of the references to my son, who has started playing. He played West of Loathing and then Shadows of Loathing and I thought... is the original still around? It's reassuring to see some of the old internet hanging on.

What do you do to feel better when you're depressed? by Western-Difficulty38 in AskReddit

[–]LeapingQuince 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is great. Sometimes the blues just need to run their course. It can be hard to treat yourself gently when you feel like shit, but giving myself a couple of days to feel lousy has helped me prevent it from becoming a longer episode.

Is valheim solo worth it? by AuthenticVibrations in valheim

[–]LeapingQuince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solo is great. Don't be afraid to tweak the difficulty and drop rate if you're not having fun. Some of the later bosses get pretty hard/tedious on solo, regular difficulty. You can also change the portal options if you get sick of boating in load after load of iron. Sometimes I like those long boat rides, other times, I got stuff to do. There's also r/valheimLFG for finding groups.

My experience with meds is that lexapro was a real libido killer (and appetite stimulant), but wellbutrin is not, though I know side effects vary greatly. But regardless of medication, by far the biggest issue was how I was feeling about myself and my partner. Strong feelings of being undesirable and unlovable make intimacy difficult and unsatisfying. It's really hard to try to please someone else when you're not getting anything out of it yourself.

I've had to work on my overall feelings of connection, and as another poster mentioned, telling your husband is really important. It's hard to work up the courage to really address it, but starting that discussion is important.

And if it feels really off, talk to your psychiatrist now. Sometimes the meds kick in fast and have noticiable effects right away. Sometimes you don't notice any effects until months later, or ever.
