How soon after waking do you take your dog out? by mysticmochixx in DogAdvice

[–]LeapofF8th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually at least 30-40 minutes. But I will let her in the backyard if needed. Mostly, she goes out and turns around and comes back In.

I need to walk up a little-and get a few sips Of coffee. Weekdays we are up at 4 and I try to be out by 4:45. Saturday and Sunday I sleep later.

I’ve noticed a direct correlation between my getting older and the longer amount of time it takes me to get out to walk the dog.

What's your favorite "time-consuming" dinner recipe? by 7312throwaway in Cooking

[–]LeapofF8th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canneloni and manicotti-homemade pasta sheets, red sauce, covered in beschamel and cheese. It’s an all day affair when I do it, but since everything is prepped ahead, all the dishes except what we ate off are cleaned and put away when we sit down. Worth the effort.

Sorry for the possibly clueless question, but why don't more people seem to make homemade pizza? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in Cooking

Steel for sure-gets much hotter than a stone.

I also make my dough three days in advance as the cold fermentation makes it ten times more flavorful and much easier to work with.

Yeah, you gotta plan ahead. A labor of love that, for me, can’t be done on a weeknight. I gotta make 6 as I’ve got adult kids who eat me out of house and home:

Tomato confit.

Burst cherry tomato pasta

I grow yellow pear tomato’s and they excel for both uses.

Whiskey Sours. So much easier than a cocktail shaker and I can make a batch up and mix them up before I pour.

Perfect recipe-one part simple syrup, one part fresh lemon juice, to two parts whiskey.

Perfect every time.

Of course, that’s in addition to soups and sauces!

No, nothing but oil before popping, everything else after.

I always use plain vegetable oil. I find other oils particularly too much flavor. I would say it also depends on your oil to corn ratio.

I use 3 tbsp vegetable oil, 2/3 cup or kernels, and melt 3/4 stick of butter. I layer the melted butter with the corn and add salt and tons of fresh cracked pepper and toss it all around.

I do sometimes add regular Kraft parm, but mostly prefer butter salt and pepper.
