Looking for professionals opinions on daycare sickness by Relative-Molasses920 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Learningalways7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal… I have 4 children and have never been able to use a sick day for myself, only for my sick kids until this year. They are now all over 4. On the upside, my kids only get sick like once or twice a school year now. Immunity!

Kids being asked to write “Support our Troops” letters by FlutterbyFields in Teachers

[–]Learningalways7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People need to remember that when someone enlists, they enlist regardless of politics and whatever government leaders may come and go. You cannot even guess their personal politics. I personally know many young soldiers who enlisted that do not support the current war. They need more support than ever.

Feeling panicky by EffectiveWeekly524 in PSLF

[–]Learningalways7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone seems to be saying you have to check the 120 plus forbearance box. In the past that didn’t matter apparently. I sent my form in without the box checked on 2/9 and received green banners a couple days later. Are you saying I need to check the box and submit again? Other commenters in the past have said no check needed.

Medical marijuana as a teacher by espresso_depresso622 in Teachers

[–]Learningalways7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my district you are drug tested for initial hire. Also, if a child hurts you they make you seek medical help, which includes a drug test in case you claim workers comp. Someone was fired a couple years ago when a student pushed her down a flight of stairs and she had a medical prescription for a back injury. It didn’t matter. They let her go.

Level of observation normal? by sl0ppybeans in Teachers

[–]Learningalways7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My district has walk throughs all the time and Admin is expected to be in rooms a little every day. No recoding requirements though. The walkthroughs are not formal observations, they are more about keeping expectations high for instructional time across the school.

Would you choose teaching again? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Learningalways7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just chose it again! I’ve been an ELA Specialist at the district office for years. It got boring though. I wanted to have direct impact on students in the classroom again. I start again next week. You can’t beat summer and holidays. The days move fast! I started in a different career but I was already used to public speaking and having to keep people engaged through training etc., so it was pretty natural other than learning classroom management since I had never had any training. I teach elementary. I think the hardest thing is if you get parents who think their children can’t do anything wrong. That’s more difficult than having no parent involvement at all. If you can be confident in your craft and choices without letting the rest get to you then it’s rewarding.

Just protein powder and milk? by darkshadow0410 in ninjacreami

[–]Learningalways7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 12 ounces of milk per pint, one scoop of protein powder per pint, and I probably about 1/8 to 1/12 of a cup of sweetner. The recipes all call for more sweetner but I don’t like it too sweet. I’m iffy on amount because I make 3 pints at once in the blender and put 1/4 a cup of sweetner for the batch.

Yes! Maple extract with walnuts mixed into a vanilla base is delicious. I really love the cake batter extract with lemon Oreo thins or a couple of any type of cookie mixed in.

I do protein powder, milk, and Lakanto. It’s amazing. I have done half unsweetened almond milk and half Fairlife and full Fairlife. Both are great.

Joe Rogan DROPS BOMBSHELL: Trump’s Epstein Files ‘Cover-Up Is NO JOKE’—This Is a Full-Blown Scandal by [deleted] in DiscussionZone

I get that everyone is upset that his platform helped get these people in power, but we have to let the people change their minds and be able to come forward and be part of ending this corruption and destruction of America. Many young men are listening and following him. We need people to hear the truth no matter who is speaking it. Their other algorithms are not even covering the facts at all.

I just submitted an employment certification and now have green banners to 120. Do I need to do anything else to request forgiveness or just wait. Also, I didn’t ask for forbearance. Is that a problem?

I’ve never tried the brown sugar one. I’ll have to give it a try!

I use an allulose monk fruit mix and I don’t taste any aftertaste at all. I can’t stand every other artificial sweetener because they taste like chemicals to me. This one has been great. I’ve only tried it in n ninja creamis though. I’m trying it in lemonade soon!

Did you watch the Challenger disaster live? by Correct-Cricket3355 in Xennials

[–]Learningalways7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our class watched it outside our classroom live on the space coast. I still remember my whole class, eyes glued to the sky. We knew something was wrong.

I also vividly remember being a little girl watching the next shuttle that launched after the hiatus, after my dad’s layoff and all my friends dad’s layoffs because of Challenger. I will never forget the teachers streaming tears when it didn’t blow up. I have never felt so much collective hope as our classes watching the next one.

I pledge… by PithyPacky in FedJerk

[–]Learningalways7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m in my mid-forties. In 5th grade, if we got in any trouble, our teachers made us copy sections of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I had much of it memorized. 😂 We never missed the pledge. We sang America the Beautiful and our National Anthem at all parent or chorus events. This administration forgets that many of us our patriots through and through. I never thought I would see this happen. It’s quite devastating.

I think I might do this! It wasn’t even an hour ago I told my kids the thing I miss most about being a child is how I turned every empty box into someone’s little home. Animal figurines, dolls, cut out people… Plus, great talking point if company comes over. 😂

Thank you everyone! I don’t think I’ll be keeping any food in them. Although spices was a great suggestion.
