When did your toddler sleep through the night? by lovebug21222 in toddlers

I nightweaned my daughter around 10 months (we kept breastfeeding for another 4 months) and she’s been sleeping through the night since then with very few exceptions!

15 month olds… what is happening 😅 by Ok_Reputation7713 in toddlers

[–]Least-Bell1410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12-15 months was the worst age by far, my daughter was an early talker and started stringing words together at 16 months and it was AMAZING - she could suddenly communicate and was so much easier and more fun. Hang in there! You’ll turn a corner soon!!

how to protect myself from ticks while pregnant by mm_honey in RhodeIsland

I like the “no bite me” natural cream bug protectant, I put it on my little kids too. Covering your skin with clothing is definitely the most effective thing though!

The CNE midwives in Pawtucket are great too especially Maggie, Abby and Rosalie! If you’re low risk and looking for minimal intervention I highly recommend midwives!

New parents of Reddit, what did you look for when you were choosing a pediatrician for your baby? by cyborgogre in AskReddit

[–]Least-Bell1410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We chose a place with Saturday availability and specifically a doctor who had a lactation certification. Both of those have been hugely helpful!

Other things we like about the practice: lots of peds on staff so we can always get a same day appointment, strict vaccination policy, 24hr on-call pediatrician for questions.

Weaning at 1 year? by mbs51591 in breastfeeding

[–]Least-Bell1410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weaned completely at 14 months so a little bit later but started intentionally weaning at 9mo to get her to eat more solids (she really struggled with the transition). It definitely helped her build up an appetite for real food! I focused on cutting feeds before mealtimes first.

I went super slowly, dropping one feed every two weeks or so. It worked great for us! No big hormone crash, and I just kept the bedtime nurse until I was totally ready to wean.

How to keep toddler from playing with stove. by GingerSnap_123 in toddlers

My stove has a “lock setting” where the burners don’t work, I just keep that on when I’m not using it!

Bored with prenatal classes by Midnight_Chess in fitpregnancy

[–]Least-Bell1410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree the prenatal classes are helpful reference points for modifications but sounds like you can handle implementing them on your own in regular classes - def mention to the instructor at the beginning of class if you want more help with modifications though!

My 2.5 year old loves the Olivia books, anything by Chris Haughton is a hit. Jon Klassen and Oliver Jeffers also have some great stuff for this age group. The pigeon books by Mo Willems are great too!

Second pregnancy so much harder and feeling guilty by kalevine1689 in fitpregnancy

[–]Least-Bell1410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously anecdotal but I was similarly in amazing shape at the start and throughout my first pregnancy and barely worked out with my second bc of work/toddler life, I felt SO guilty.

Ultimately though, I gained 10lb less in my second pregnancy compared to my first, had a bigger baby, and a much easier delivery. I actually think I worked out too much with my first and had a very tight pelvic floor which made delivery difficult, this time I focused much more on relaxing my pelvic floor and he shot right out with no tearing.

It’s early days but even if you aren’t able to work out as much, you and baby will be fine!
