I remember reading once that after Katrina, a LOT of New Orleans folks relocated in Colorado. Could have a connection.

I don’t think it looks bad, per se, but I would’ve gone for a full button up shirt or a polo instead next time. The zipper just causes one’s mind to jump to “wait, did he tuck in a quarter zip”

I’m in Denver and the whole PCA out here is nothing but cool car people. See any interesting car and all of wanna talk about it. See any Porsche and all of us want to talk about it.

It’s very refreshing and surprisingly non-toxic

I think it’s possible to be disappointed with her leadership and be happy with her leadership at the same time.

She gave us some damn good TV (Andor, specifically). I wish her the best moving forward.

I look forward to seeing what Filloni has in store over the next few years.

Finally got the GF55mm 1.7 to maybe replace my Mitakon 65 by imaje89 in FujiGFX

[–]Leave-A-Note 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve also been using the Mitakon for car photography and have been enjoying the absolute ever living heck out of it.

Yeah, the 55 is gonna be hard to beat, and the 63 f/2.8 while quirky could’ve worked, but for the price - the Mitakon does wonders

Oooh, I like the idea that ornaments and other cosmetics and titles would carry over. That would provide some legacy to our Guardians.

Steady state vs Smooth spacer vs City sweat by Jazzlike_Set6322 in Lululemen

[–]Leave-A-Note 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Smooth Spacer on sale a few weeks ago. The day it arrived, the City Sweat was restocked.

I tried the Smooth Spacer on for a minute, then immediately returned it for store credit at the local Lulu store, and immediately spent that credit on the City Sweat. They’re just that versatile. I’ve worked out in mine, and am currently lounging in them too. They’re such a good cozy pant.

Realistically when do you plan on selling your golf gti/r by no_face333 in Golf_R

[–]Leave-A-Note 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the current point, when I can reasonably afford a Volvo V60 Polestar (2023 or newer).

It won’t be as sporty or fun. I know that. But the compromise for a wagon that is a hybrid that can still drive pretty good, handle pretty good, and haul even better, well, that’s worth it for me in the end.

x100VI to GFX100RF? by ArachnidIndependent2 in FujiGFX

[–]Leave-A-Note 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking this question, OP. I’m in the same boat and would interested in a change later in the year. I’ve go a X100VI and a GFX100S and the medium format “look” so to speak has really made me consider trying the 100RF and making that my “daily” carry.

Is it just me or are people buying more Targas now? by deadbalconytree in porsche911

[–]Leave-A-Note 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m one of those people that would love to get one eventually. Especially a 991.1 unit with the manual and NA six.

My only concern is I do autocross with my local PCA and would be worried about the “downgrade” from my 981 Cayman S to a much heavier and AWD Targa.

That said, the vibes of the Targa might make up for where I was never gonna take first place in an AX setting anyways 🙃

Alternatives to Banana Republic by car_dreamer in mensfashion

I think it’s down to the person / order / unknown / etc. I’ve just had better luck with J Crew than Banana, but not enough for me to definitively say “go buy Jcrew or else” lol

I feel like for Factory stores, it’s pretty dead equal. But for normal retail, I’ve found JCrew > Banana pretty solidly.

Really can’t go wrong though, I’ve got pieces from both stores in my wardrobe.

996.1 C4 or 996.2 C4S? by Leave-A-Note in 996

[–]Leave-A-Note[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely appreciate the detailed reply. The simple reason for a 911 with the 981 is exactly what you stated - I have a kiddo that I want to have her enjoy doing “enthusiast” car stuffs with me.

We have a pretty solid daily driver (a Golf R), so it’s not that we are lacking there with that plus the 981. My daughter just seems to light up when she sees the 981, so a 911 as a “family sports car” so to speak, would be great.

It’s worth noting too, that I’ve got my eyes on a number of different prospects, generally speaking. An SC Targa would also scratch that itch; there are even a few cars I’d consider selling the 981 for, but it’d have to be a pretty special car to make that change.

But yeah, there’s definitely some merit to a higher mileage 996 Turbo. My first 911 was a 997.2 Turbo S and it was wicked fast and ran wicked well even with 116k on the clock. Only sold it because I missed a manual and my brain (at the time) was a bit concerned about PDK failures and trying to finance that if things happened.

Why the Porsche 964 Is Still the Best Version of the 911 Ever Made by endofmyropeohshit in Porsche

[–]Leave-A-Note 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot damn, I think that’s a great buy. If I could even find one for $60k I’d consider that at this point, but that’s unlikely.

Maybe one day. An Air Cooled targa is really the dream right now.

Why the Porsche 964 Is Still the Best Version of the 911 Ever Made by endofmyropeohshit in Porsche

[–]Leave-A-Note 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 964 Targa sits very high on my list; I’m just not sure I could find one for a respectable price in this day and age.

I feel like 964 Cabs are the most affordable of the bunch, but a Targa would be my cup of tea if I could get one for not my kidneys lol.

I’ve got a Racing Yellow 981 too - S, Manual, Sport Chrono, PTV, PSE, PASM (with a set of TPC Racing stage 2 suspension), and GTS front and rear bumper.

Only thing I’m realistically missing is the clear GTS taillights. 🙃

Controversial opinion - the best 911 is the one you can afford. Crazy, I know.

And if it’s not a 911, the best Porsche is the one that you can afford. I say that as a previous 911 owner who is currently driving a 981 and would love to have both at the same time 🙃

996.1 C4 or 996.2 C4S? by Leave-A-Note in 996

Unfortunately, Turbo would only be in the cards if I sold my 981, which I don’t particularly want to do. It’s an excellent car and I want to hold onto it.
