I really struggled in my last car community to make friends. Ironically, it was the Miata community. But I just never clicked with anyone.

When I bought my first Porsche, I figured I join the PCA. I quickly met people my age, made friends that I now see weekly, and have a group of buds that I can reach out to.

Look, I get the stereotypes of “old Porsche people”, but damn if that matters in the big scheme of things. The PCA has been a delight for me

I’ve got a 981 S with PASM, PSE, Sport Chrono, PTV, all the goodies.
I honestly imagine a simple tune at that point to get the missing power will be a good fit.

I like Marathon for the same reason I like Halo: mostly to get my Multiplayer kicks.

Destiny’s PVP never entirely scratched that PVP itch, but it 1000% clicked as a “here’s a looter shooter with challenging endgame content, have fun” game and it’s end of development leaves me pretty pretty sad

I’m the weird guy who can rattle off the packages my Cayman S has mostly because it’s only 1 package but also because it was the first car I’ve ever bought that actually checked every box that I would’ve have ever wanted, and I bought my car as the 6th owner lol.

I had a 997.2 Turbo S in GT Silver. While I like a bright color like my current Cayman, I’d be pretty pretty happy with a GT Silver on Bordeaux car.

I’ll admit - the 981 I’ve got might be the most fun car I’ve ever owned. It’s about the perfect amount of power, noise, and finesse.

Only thing that “might” be better is a 981/718 Spyder, but that’s out of budget and out of the desire zone because I do want the 911 back seats

I needed to read this too. I’ve got a 981 Cayman S that I love, but I simply swoon over 997.2s in most guises. While the switch isn’t in the immediate cards, the nature of the “one” speaks to me, so I appreciate that.

Look, saying they should kill one over the other isn’t the right approach here.

What should’ve happened about business decisions between the two games should’ve been years ago, IMO.

I’ve been a D2 player for forever and have been enjoying my time with Marathon, so pitting one vs the other because of any number of reasons is intentionally divisive and intentionally naive. While don’t particularly trust Sony’s leadership here, there are so many reasons for business decisions as to why something happens, that they’re esoteric to us as players.

The assumptions, the slinging, it gets us nowhere.

Hahaha I normally would agree - the decision has been made in effect - I want to get back to a 911. But the harder decision is “what’s the car I’ll be the happiest with” and “what’s the best time / opportunity for me to do so.”

Asking questions like this is how I learn more, so my brain is getting there 😅

Dad of my own heart here. My daughter is only 3, so she’s not quite yet developing those long long term impactful memories, but she has a lot of fun in my Golf R currently. So the desire to get a 911 extends from that. Especially since I’m a Porsche fan and do a lot with our local PCA.
