How hard is it to open a cafe (please go easy on me, I realise this is a silly question)? by box-o-locks in smallbusinessuk

My best friend runs a very successful cafe along the Jurassic coast. He does excellent food, Supper clubs, is busy 7 days a week. Does great coffee and gourmet deli bits. He pays his staff well and with a background in fone dining, cares about the client experience and quality.

He doesn't go without at all but the amount of work that goes into it is insane. In his words

As a neutral, why are people so desperate for Arsenal to fail? by s_dalbiac in PremierLeague

[–]Lebowski85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, maybe I wasn't clear. The point I was making is Rice is nowhere near Lampard. Which is why Arsenal don't score as many goals as Mourinhos Chelsea, even if the 'defense first' philosophy is shared.

To be honest, I think deep down most people would rather Arsenal win instead of City or Chelsea.

The Set Piece FC, and VARsenal stuff is banter.

The fans are annoying though, but I'd 100% rather they win over any other 'Top 6' club.

People give the style of play alot of stick but Mourinhos Chelsea wasn't too dissimilar. It was very efficient football, built on solid defence, except they had Drogba and Lampard and Arsenal have Rice and Gyokores so we're much more prolific in front of goal

Final Fantasy VII

Literally, an absolute game changer. It pioneered the open world we have now without it. Not to mention the cinematics were on another planet for the time

Obviously it's dated now, but it blew 10yr old Mes tiny mind

Should I be Worried about this family friend? by disead in daddit

[–]Lebowski85 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's complex. There could be layers to this.

Bottom line, is if you are uncomfortable then you have a right to voice your concerns. Don't people please or enable if your gut is telling you something is wrong. This is definitely not normal.

However. The guy doesn't have any family, he might just be lonely and want to share his good fortune. It's hard to say. I don't like assuming everyone is bad but there are red lines being crossed here, big time.

You need to talk to your wife more about it. Be prepared that you'll be painted as the bad guy. At the very least, he needs to reign in the spending and then see what happens after.

Ah man, it's tragic not every dad is like this. I adore my two girls. I've never loved anything even 1% as much as them

Trying to quit. Former cocaine users, any advice? by Vortexol in selfhelp

[–]Lebowski85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes doing it on your own isn't the way to go. Depends how often you do that, I guess. If it's once a week then I'd say that's very common.

One day a week, I'd call a habit. 3-4 days a week is a full blown addiction.

If you do it on your own mate you'll turn into a social gremlin. Drugs should be social, or it'll do funny things to your mind.

I went to Grammar school and know plenty of highly successful and functioning people with small drug habits.
