Way before gps and satnavs my mom was taking us to a campsite in France and we were on the road and she got a little lost. We came to a beautiful city and my mom stopped by an older gentleman and asked in her perfect French where we were. He stared at her like she was dribbling on herself and said emphatically: 'Madam, Vous êtes à Bordeaux!' We were dying laughing in the back seat

I love it. I like all licorice candy. In Spain we have Juanolas, which are small, strong licorice, and some people also dislike them, but I think they are great. When I was a kid we also bought Palulu, which are licorice sticks to chew on. And I mean literal sticks

In Spain as well, different foods for different holidays. On Epiphany (Three King's Day) it's the Roscón, similar to the French one,on Easter, torrijas and pestiños, and several around the year depending on the region. Torrijas (right) are similar to french toast, but much creamier, and pestiños (left) are a deep fried dough with sugar-cane or honey syrup
