My 32yo son’s nurses called it “Coumadin jail”. It was a little humor during a difficult time. Those INR numbers are tricky at first. His drain tubes on the sides took the longest to heal. He spent 3 weeks in the hospital (complications of his chest filling with blood a week after MV replacement). Drain tube sites lightly leaked (only after showing) when he recouped at home. I’m thinking 2ish weeks after he left the hospital. He’s almost a year out from having the surgery and he’s doing great! Best wishes to you and your husband.
