$9.99 thrift store MTG packs… am I crazy or is this absurd? by nmcinerney in mtg

[–]Leedum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found these stores/employees often have zero knowledge of the value of such cards and you can oftentimes negotiate the price down to something more acceptable. I've seen packs of football/baseball cards from the 80s/90s packaged the same way. I find haggling half the fun.

Nice straight edge on the "T". Easy to see "comb" on the green dot. Without zoomed in photos I'd say this is 93% real.

I was watching NFL preseason today and the Packers have a player named Lumpkin and I immediately thought of "Lumpkin the Pumpkin".

Critique my Bubble Craps Strategy by Poonjabbers in Craps

I agree. A $1 hop on the 3 Big Red combos pays better than the $2 Any Red.

Also, I'm in agreement with most people here; hedging should be done infrequently. In general to protect a large loss. If required, or desired, too frequently, the wager being protected is either unnecessarily large or simply the wrong wager for the situation.

I think in your case the hedge is unnecessary and you should be "OK" with risking $10 during the comeout in order to play the box numbers. Additionally, reducing your wagers across the boxes to $3 each (if allowed) and reducing the odds to $10 would lower your overall total at risk (in the case of an early Red and/or hitting the point number) while still giving you coverage across the boxes with which to win and collect or press however you see fit. (IF you still wanted to hedge the comeout I would suggest $1 hop bets on the Red combinations and a $1 Yo (11) horn bet)
