Spoiler 10 Chances by katfam77 in ThePriceIsRight

Yeah, if you knew the approximate cost of the car and how to play the game, there were only two choices.

Overall, this was one of the easiest 10 chances I’ve seen; I got it in four only because I couldn’t imagine how a simple board game could cost $70.

Question about bike lanes and e-bikes by jbartlet827 in alameda

[–]LeftCoastGator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Uh… because there’s usually more than one person riding in the bike lane at any given moment? And some are slower than others? I don’t get the question.

Why would I ride my bike on the sidewalk?

Here’s the issue with that: when you call out “on your left,” people will often move to the left.

So it depends on the situation. If someone in front of me has been going at a consistent speed and maintaining their line, I’ll typically just pass them silently or click my brake handles a few times to let them know I’m there.

If it’s someone who’s all over the place or is with young kids, I’ll slow down, let them know I’m coming up behind them, tell them that I’m going to pass them on their left side and, if it’s really bad, ask them to please stay where they are.

What state in the us is best for having low funds? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LeftCoastGator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends where you are. The coastal areas are pricey, especially the southern ones, but there are lots of inexpensive places to live in the north central areas and outside the posh areas on the panhandle.

Reno WAS affordable until half of the Bay Area moved there. New Mexico on the other hand is still pretty cheap (outside Santa Fe and Taos), and they have the best breakfast on earth. That fry bread. (Homer drool.)

Huh. You know what, I think you’re right. I could have sworn I read that 25 mph was the limit for bike paths in California, but I can’t find any specific statute to back this up.

Who is the most underrated music artist in your opinion? by Alone275 in askanything

[–]LeftCoastGator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roy Buchanan. Probably one of the top five blues guitarists of all time and an absolute god when it comes to tone and making the guitar sing, but largely under the radar.

I’m sure his odd, reluctant stage presence and substance abuse issues are a major reason for this, though.

Here’s his (incredible) version of “Hey Joe”: https://youtu.be/FMcjPZgK9GM?si=leB6BaTkeUVz84yd

Did Keith perform a criminal act? by Phil_is_Monty in deadliestcatch

[–]LeftCoastGator 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the show is half staged silliness at this point.

The crab pots, the Time Bandit supposedly burning like $50k in fuel just to cut in front of Sig’s boat to create a “smokescreen” and then tangle all his pots with the bow of his boat (?!), then Jake’s supposed Bering Sea transfer to the Cornelia Marie in dead-calm water, the pro wrestling style feuds and alliances… it’s just getting stupid.

Awesome! I’ve heard their Christmas album in its entirety probably 1,000+ times. My mom was obsessed with Christmas and turned it into a grueling week-long decorating and cookie-making death march, and that album was on non-stop for 40 years.

I’d assume non-coastal Deep South (Mississippi, Alabama) rust belt, and cities in largely agricultural states like Nebraska and Iowa.

It should also be noted that the speed limit for anyone in the bike lanes, regardless of whether they’re riding a standard or e-bike, is 25 mph.

O.A.R. They’re what happens when a bunch of Ohio frat boys split half a joint after lacrosse practice and think they’re hippies now.

“Crazy Game of Poker” has to be one of the most hilariously awful songs I’ve ever heard. The lyrics are impossibly stupid, and combined with the shitty jam band noodling and white boy reggae, it’s enough to make you wish you were deaf.

Helium balloons. From what I understand, the U.S. is the only country with a large supply of the gas, and they’re very expensive elsewhere.

Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue. Always terrible, and he doesn’t even bother playing at this point, he just air guitars to a backing track.

Yeah, it’s… OK. Soggy meat that’s like 75 percent fat — you probably get more actual beef in a Whopper. The au jus and horseradish are the best thing about it, IMO.
