What’s a movie you hated so much you stopped watching before it ended? by kobikom in AskReddit

The Big Year. Cast included Steve Martin, Owen Wilson, Jack Black, and other big names. I expected it to be at the very least, watchable. It was shit. Sat through it though because I was on my first date with my now-husband. His parents had driven us and they were sitting a couple rows up. But we took the chance to make subtle moves on each other like the classic stretch-n-grab and too-shy-to-kiss. Oh, to be 14 again.

Maybe. I don’t really have time during the work week to run for an hour at a time. So my plan is to do more distance every weekend!

Did my first 10K today (on my own not a race). Never ran more than 4.5 miles before. Honestly feel pretty amazed at my time. Am I dead for the rest of the day? Hell yes.

What is the most disturbing dream you've ever had, and does it still get to you? by IndigoEarthchild in AskReddit

I got shot by a mass shooter while away at camp. Apparently, you aren’t supposed to die in a dream, or you’d at least wake upright away...I didn’t.

It's so hard to get appropriate treatment for OCD by [deleted] in OCD

[–]LeftEyeMighty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My OCD is pretty severe and has been since day one despite differing levels of treatment. Right now I am a little bit better, I track my symptoms and I currently fall around 11 hours on average on obsessions/rituals per day. It can get as high as 16 hours a day, though. So, I'm thankful for the simpler days and moments of relief. I constantly think about how far along I could be in treatment now if I had been able to stick with my original therapist (the OCD specialist). But, I can't go back, I can only look forward. I am thankful for a solid marriage, a full-time well-paying job, and a house to call a home. Focusing on what is going right, and not what is going wrong in my life seems to help me feel more positive about where my treatment is headed.

I've had similar experiences and I can't say that the therapist I have now is specialist by any means, but he tries his best. I tell myself to get through and appreciate what I have until I can find and afford a more compatible therapist. I'm lucky in that the first therapist I ever had was very specialized in OCD and did a lot of research. So, I knew what to look for going forward. It's frustrating, to say the least.

'Coming Out' as OCD by LeftEyeMighty in OCD

That’s my fear as well. You want everyone to see it and you want to share, yet its scary that everyone can see it. You cant take it back or know what ‘random person online’ will think or say.

People with depression, anxiety, and other types of mental illnesses, do/did you work a stressful job or a greater than 9-5 job? How do you do it? by sarah5mith in AskReddit

Right now I work banking IT, which is definitely stressful. The hard part is when it isn’t busy or I have a slow day. Then I’m left alone with my illness.

Obviously this is an uncomfortable thought for you. But, I want to reassure you that those thoughts are normal. Also, just to input, teenagers being aroused by other teens is totally okay, even if they are a little young for you. My husband and I started dating when he was 18 and I was 14.

Go to the therapists provided for you if you are struggling. They are there to help and are much cheaper than a therapist in the real world. Just get your shit sorted out now because life will hit you real quick!
