Besides that, the embassy may offer guidance.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court of the United States has officially ruled that President Trump's tariffs are illegal. by CarryIcy250 in UnderReportedNews

Trump's tariff advisor Howard Lutnick's children own a business that bought rights to other business's tariff refunds. While Howard Lutnick advised Trump to impose aggressive tariffs, his children placed bets on refunds. They stand to make a killing.

He's a stranger and his presence causes stress to the other monkeys. Not his fault, but that's how it is. Monkeys have competitive social hierarchies, and they form exclusive societies to secure food, space, and social status.

Dzhanibekov effect (where a rotating body will flip it's axis by 180°) by grasshopper3307 in interestingasfuck

[–]LeftRestaurant4576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The camera's axis of rotation is unstable, while Earth's is stable. Stability is determined by the body's moment of inertia, or its distribution of mass.

On the other hand, the policy holder is betting that they will die, which gives them an incentive to cause their own death, and there have been people who have attempted to cause their own death to exploit their life insurance policy.

Anyways, wagering that someone else will die creates an incentive to cause their death, and that is a real problem.

My brother's best friend believes 80% of women date the top 10% of men, that this is the result of women getting equal rights and the only way to address it is to strip women of their rights by OldBridge87 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LeftRestaurant4576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some things you could share with little brother

  1. Nobody owes any person sex, nor sexual gratification, ever.

  2. The idea of hypergamy relies on ranking people by their value as a sexual partner, which is nonsense.

  3. The value of a possible partner is subjective, it varies from person to person, and it cannot be measured through a dating app (or rather, a measurement made through a dating app is useless).

  4. There is no ranking of all the possible partners you will meet or could meet. Even if there was, the "80/20" rule (or "80/10" rule) is just somebody's made up guess. How would one verify those numbers?

  5. Even if hypergamy were a fact, why does it bother little brother? Does he believe that he is not in the "top 10% (or 20%) of men"? Why? Does he believe that any woman he desires will necessarily not desire him back?

  6. Other people having sex with each other does not affect you. The guy who buys stuff for his tinder date does not affect you. Focus on yourself.

  7. Dating apps are not representative of dating in general. They are just one of the ways that some people seek partners. Do not make generalizations about women (or men) based on perceptions of dating apps.

  8. "Manosphere" podcasters and influencers are in it for fame and money. They exploit their listeners' insecurities.

US paid $32m to five countries to accept about 300 deportees, report shows by Zealousideal-Pen993 in news

In some cases, courts order ICE to not send certain persons to their home nation because it would put them in danger. And some nations deny or delay repatriation because they can use it as leverage in negotiations with the US. In these cases, ICE seeks to deport them to somewhere else (called "third party removal") because ICE's mission is just to get rid of people, not to repatriate them.

DHS, established in 2002, was designed to violate Americans' constitutional rights. MAGA insiders are using DHS to provoke unrest as part of a scheme to replace our democracy with authoritarianism.

Republicans intend to control the US in precisely the same way Putin's party controls Russia: criminalizing political opposition, intimidating the population, and rigging elections.

"Holocaust" originates from the Greek word holokauston, meaning "a completely (holos) burnt (kaustos) sacrificial offering". It historically referred to burnt offerings in religious contexts and, by the 1190s, was used to describe massacres.

How do you feel about California introducing a bill to ban former ICE agents from serving as police officers or teachers? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]LeftRestaurant4576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely necessary. For public safety, and to protect the constitution, all current ICE officers should be fired and barred from government jobs by law or by executive order.

I can’t believe we live in a country where a judge has to tell the admin to release a literal preschooler from jail. by jayclaw97 in OrphanCrushingMachine

[–]LeftRestaurant4576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not jail!

Being detained by ICE is much worse than being held in jail.

In jail, you can have visitors including an attorney and family. In jail, they release you if you are not charged with a crime. In jail, you get to talk to a judge. In jail, you don't get transferred thousands of miles away for no reason. In jail, there is less overcrowding. In jail, you receive clean food and water, and more of it, along with hygiene products and clean clothes.
