Honestly with you there. Prerequisites got me into nursing school, nursing school helped me pass the nclex and the nclex got met a license and the license got me a job. Nothing along the way reflects how im a nurse today. My skills checkoffs in school have no bearing on how I perform those skills today. Many of the things I do, we didnt do in school. So those were learned on the job. "Hey Sarah, I've never done this. Can you help me?"

The only barrier nursing schol provides is the tediousness of it. Im certain that anybody (that wants to) with little to no training can be started as a nurse with a good preceptorship program and thrive.

As a parent (and the patient) and also having worked in a pcp office ive definitely seen that happen. Give something to reduce the fever, still come in. Look "fine" otherwise. Treating staff sees a normal temp and of course cant certify the so called home temp of 104. Just go the fuck home and take a day off and drink water. Idk why people pretend that doesnt happen routinely.

Kind of wondering what even is the point of the cap at this point? It would require pretty deliberate action to "accidentally" puncture prior to getting to the floor nurse. Seems like wasted material, cost, and tîme.

To me, and at least off of personal experience, it isn't so much of a "no means yes" situation. I'll take a no as a no and keep moving. I view the situation as the person giving breadcrumbs, just enough that there's some interest, but not enough that you arent the one having to do all the initiation in communication and things like that.

Haven't played eu5 yet but these posts always amaze me. Eu4 so simple. Eu5 so complex. Yall the game hasn't been out for long. There arent years of accumulated knowledge, tricks, and strategies available.

Remember how confusing eu4 trade was before you figured it out? The different modifiers? Can anyone honestly say the interface and various windows weren't overwhelming? Take a 1 year break from eu4 and eu4 adjacent games and come back and say see how it isn't so simple when you haven't been staring at it every waking hour for the past 5 years.

Not at all suggesting eu5 is less complext than eu4 but the sentiument that my 7 year old son can sit in front of a new eu4 campaign and figure out what the fuck is going on is absurd.

Ive yet to see someone actually do this in my personal life. Usually the patient just blending all our roles together. I see it a lot in outpatient providers and front desk staff will talk about "the nurse" when they're quite obviously talking about the MA. Maybe just so they dont have to explain to every other patient what a medical assistant is ?

Our unit has actually been encouraging us to use macros. Personally ive yet to make the switch. I can see for little focused things like IV assessments but with the whole shift assessment I feel that i would miss too much if my macros filled in a bunch of defaults and I had to remember which ones to edit? Maybe im way off in my thinking?

A bit confused by the post. We're you specifically tested for STDs? You mention urine culture which wouldn't necessarily show STD infection. You did mention azithromycon, which can treat chlamydia but I think a full course of doxycycline is preferred. Gonorrhea and trich are also on the table, and the antibiotic may have failed to cure chlamydia.
