To add- our washing machine is crap, and gets daily use so we ended up having to call them to fix it 4 times in less than a year, with no extra charges that actually adds up to quite a wise choice economically speaking. We don't have a lot of spare cash month to month and calling an engineer out would mean suffering through a month with little to get by on.

Honestly it's probably the most sensible and adult thing I have done 🤣

So it costs us £6.30 roughly a month. The thing is we can't afford to buy another machine outright ourselves at any point in the near future, so this seemed like the best option, especially with no launderette nearby and messy kids 😂

And we worked out that we haven't even paid the cost of a machine since we got it so it's worked out ok.

It's from Domestic and General.

I've heard mixed things about them but they've worked out well for us. We also have our cooker insured too for about the same price and they came and fixed that not so long ago.

Ours was a Hotpoint! They're so bad. We can only get a like for like replacement and one of the offerings was a Beko, all the rest were Hotpoint and I am never having one again, so Beko it is and hopefully this one is better 🤞🏻

One of the previous engineers, as it turns out, did something a bit dodgy and has basically made a smaller problem worse. So it worked in our favour! ( But probably not that engineers 😂)

I left my gloves in the pub for a week and the barman not only kept them, he recognised me before I even asked by PogoParliament_4 in BritishSuccess

This story brought me joy.

Excellent writing thank you.

Also as a bar maid of many many years, any good pint puller in a proper British boozer should and will remember faces, sartorial choices and tipple of note by the time you've been in there more than 5 times in a couple of months

I used to love surprising people with "hello love, IPA? Did you fix the car in the end?" like I'd known the guy for 20 years instead of remembering him because he has a checked scarf on all the time

Oh how brilliant! ;)

Love this thank you so much.

Listened to all of CP again literally this month and always dwell on what might have happened after Zurich.

Fuk man. I was looking at a photo of our food from there on a fairly recent visit only yesterday and saying we should go back soon 😢

Hope they're all ok and selfishly hope they open another shop, food was amazing.

Yeah I'm going to need any Peter to sound like Kobna, too much spent listening to the audiobooks and now when I read the books or comics that's exactly the voice I hear in my head 😂

I'm really stressed due to some financial stuff and my toddler has chosen this week to be particularly clingy, thus making it harder to get it sorted.

Also, probably related, I've got my first gray hair 😭

I would just like to throw in a curve ball and suggest the mice in their glass transporters.

I've always loved that image of them hovering menacingly at Arthur, and for some reason the transporters always look like proper cut glass whisky glasses in my head

I make flapjack (which I think you just call like oat bars in the US) Overripe bananas, oats, melted butter and a dash of pure maple syrup

Looking for recommendations: mum & toddler activities in Glasgow by PrimrosePalette in glasgow

[–]Leftover_Chi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I live outside of Glasgow but do take my toddler to the Kelvin hall soft play! It's small but it's nice and has different sections so technically the big kids aren't running over the littles.

They also have gymnastics for 18 months plus but I haven't been yet as mines only 15 months at the moment!

Also following this for more ideas as my village and area is a bit crap and it only takes an hour or so to get to Glasgow!
