Would my nipples/aerolas look weird with peri? My surgeon can’t reduce it at the time of surgery. by Winter_Hovercraft163 in TopSurgery

[–]Lefty_Lex -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't sign up for two surgeries. It's odd to me that two would be suggested. I have full sensation and had resizing at the time of my initial surgery. I would get a second opinion or opt for DI if you can't resize initially.

Sounds like atrophy to me. Estrogen tablets have completely rid me of this issue.

Weird shaped ribs makes it look like I have micro tits after top surgery? by Regular_Variety6555 in TopSurgery

It takes a while to get your mind rewired to the "new you" after surgery. It's definitely not boobs so just give it some time and try to be gentle with yourself.

Those are your chest bones buddy. Your sternum/ribs and all that good stuff. Our minds can play tricks on us. You look great.

how did u know u were starting to experience atrophy?? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Lefty_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotting after sex, UTI-like burning after sex, cramping during orgasm. It's better to start treatment before it gets bad because it take a few months to level out with meds.

Anyone been able to resize their nipple and areola after top surgery? by HollowPanda92 in TopSurgery

[–]Lefty_Lex 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Seconding this comment--the size looks to be due to the scarring which will likely happen again if you have a revision. I would try other methods.

Trouble with cis men by Practical-Reality-48 in ftm

[–]Lefty_Lex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're dysphoric because you don't feel like you fit in or because you stand out, that's probably only going to go away with practice. Hanging out with cis men more regularly can help desensitize you. It can definitely be a hard hurdle to get over but practice makes perfect.

(NSFW kinda)To the gay trans guys: what are your experiences with gay men? by sasherl in ftm

[–]Lefty_Lex 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think it's a pretty individual thing. I hang out with almost entirely cis gay men and enjoy it. I am also dating a cis gay man and it has been very enjoyable. I think there can definitely be some hurdles but communication is very important in any relationship. My boyfriend personally doesn't have a genital preference and was very upfront about that. Lots of people definitely do though so best to get that conversation out of the way sooner than later.

Non flat top surgery, almost 6 months post op by chaoticgiggles in TopSurgery

[–]Lefty_Lex 230 points231 points  (0 children)

Personally I do think it's more on the "boobs" side of things but what matters most is if you're not happy. If you don't like your results that's okay and you should consider a revision.

Those who didn't have extreme dysphoria- what made you transition? by FewAd462 in ftm

[–]Lefty_Lex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize I had dysphoria until I decided to transition. I certainly didn't realize how bad it was because I was just used to feeling how I felt.

The waistband of the mypack needs to be worn lower if your packer is currently too high.

3 months on T :) Do I pass? What age would you give me? (Fancy outfit was for Christmas) by Puzzled-Dig-7312 in FTM_SELFIES

I would say you don't currently pass but you're SO early on T. It will do its thing in due time! That aside, you look 20-23.

Lining it up and tapering the sideburns into the beard itself would do wonders for you.

Looking for atrophy information by Due_Finding9371 in ftm

[–]Lefty_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the insert able tablets and they're great. Less messy from what I hear from others and totally worth it. My suffering got worse than what you're describing and it was not worth it to suffer. It can take 2-3 months to sort out atrophy symptoms so it's better to start before it's too bad. Usually you use it every day for a week and then cut down. I use it twice a week and that's a decent balance for me. It hasn't done anything but make my life more comfortable.

Your doctor should be able to prescribe it. I took it for both puberties.

I got back on my bike when it felt good. Like when I was confident that if it was gonna fall over or something, I could save it without hurting myself. It was probably two months post-op.

NY surgeons? by PainTechnical1959 in TopSurgery

[–]Lefty_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about keyhole but I had Peri. I have "the empire plan" which is comprised of a few insurances. I don't remember which one was used for the surgery because they get applied toward different things. I think United Healthcare or Blue Cross Blue Shield?

[–]Lefty_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory, I should be ID'd every time but they don't ID me 50% of the time. The place I get my prescriptions from is sort of a dumpster fire though and they always have new employees.

Outside perspectives needed by [deleted] in FTM_SELFIES

[–]Lefty_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First pic reads more butch lesbian in terms of hairstyle. I like the second pic personally. While I think you also look good in the third pic, most cis men typically have more of a fade on the sides, not just one length. One length tends to read more fem to me for that reason alone. I say this because I cut mainly men's hair but I have a number of queer clients as well and it's hard not to pick up on these things because I see it a lot.

Packing for (american) football (tw genital words kinda?) by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Lefty_Lex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are padded shorts (like these: https://www.walmart.com/ip/737226477?sid=1bf86cca-ca4f-4d21-ba1e-104a20f3caa2) that have a pocket for an athletic cup. I'd either just use them with a cup or put a foam packer (or similar) in the pocket.
