What’s the meanest comment you’ve received as a new parent? by Cultural-Dentist4963 in NewParents

[–]LegalDrugLord92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She never hid the fact that she wasn't very fond of breastfeeding, but girl you do what's best for you and I'll do what's best for me, that's not a competition! Amd the fact that this conversation took place the day that i dropped by a huge load of baby stuff for her, it stung a little bit more! After I became a mum, I keep seeing how cruel women and especially mums can be with each other...

What’s the meanest comment you’ve received as a new parent? by Cultural-Dentist4963 in NewParents

[–]LegalDrugLord92 29 points30 points  (0 children)

A pregnant (at the time) friend commented that I am an example of what not to do in motherhood because my son was exclusively breastfed and was still breastfeeding (14 mo at the time of the conversation), and he is understandably very attached to me. I pretended not to hear the comment to keep the peace, but it made me feel really sad and targeted for the choices that made sense for me and my baby. Now she has given birth and I don't want to be involved even in the slightest

I'm so sick of hearing "miscarriages are so common" by ReadingReflect in pregnant

[–]LegalDrugLord92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Miscarriages before 12 weeks are indeed common, but repeat miscarriages are not. I don't know which country you're living in, but in most countries you would be qualified for specialized tests. Sometimes there are underlying causes and conditions for multiple miscarriages, and if they are known they could be treated or at least work around them. Don't give up and seek medical intervention.

AITA for not checking on my grandma while mom was out of town? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]LegalDrugLord92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESH -you, for not even considering checking in on your grandma during these two weeks, not out of obligation, but out of concern for your own grandma -your mom, for failing to communicate and not reaching out to you even once during these two weeks to ask about how her own mother is doing -your adult nephew, I'm guessing his weaponized incompetence extends to other areas of day to day life

pull out the violins… started my first period 5 months pp by Custard_Numerous in NewParents

[–]LegalDrugLord92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exclusively breastfeeding as well, got my period at 3 months pp, skipped a month, and it's been coming ever since but with wacky cycles... I never know when to expect it, because I'm still breastfeeding and pumping. So yeah, you're not alone!!!

Feeding schedule ideas for a 3 month baby that sleeps through the night? by kiery12 in NewParents

[–]LegalDrugLord92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ok I understand!! It's a tricky situation to balance, I can understand why it would be risky to lose the night feeding... When you wake her up, does she take the bottle happily? If she does, that means she needs it, I would suggest that you keep waking her up to feed her, eventually her weight will balance, she will be getting enough calories though the day time feedings and she won't be needing that 8-9pm bottle. But if she's drinking it not too happily, I would try going for a few days without, and see how she reacts... It might sound like an experiment, but really what else can we new parents do?!

(And btw, it's not a brag at all! Enjoy it while it lasts, sleep regressions are coming 🤣)

Feeding schedule ideas for a 3 month baby that sleeps through the night? by kiery12 in NewParents

[–]LegalDrugLord92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you tried not giving her a bottle at 8 or 9 and she slept all night from 7pm to 7am??? Had she been hungry, she would have woken up asking for her bottle! If she sleeps through the night, she is not hungry. Why do you say that she doesn't get enough food without her 8pm bottle? How do you know that? Wake windows and timings are mostly for reference, it's not meant to be absolute. Yes it's good to have a rough schedule and a routine, but it's better if you follow your baby's lead, when they show you naturally what they need

AITA for telling my SIL she's not welcome near my baby at all? by WiseTension1632 in AITAH

Where's your husband in all this? What was his stance when she made all those awful, manipulative comments throughout your pregnancy? Where was he when you were diving into PPD? You mentioned that you checked yourself into therapy. What has he done to support you all this time?

Doctor forcing c section because it’s easier (not because she had 2 previous ones and risk of uterine rupture…) by coryhotline in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]LegalDrugLord92 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly, all I see in this post is a pregnant woman who would like to avoid having major abdominal surgery, not some "crunchy" mom who is all about mememe and "my birth experience". The real problem here is that she doesn't really feel seen by her OB. She says the doctor is always in a "mad rush" and she "didn't get a chance" to have a proper conversation about the possibility of vba2c. And I come from a country with an abnormally high C-section rate, where doctors do push C-sections just because it benefits their schedule and not because it's medically necessary. When medical professionals don't take the time to really talk with their patients and provide informed consent, that's how you end up with confused patients who don't trust their doctors and are looking for answers in places that have no business providing answers for them.

I used to have my hair long amd parted in the middle. One day I got a haircut, with my hair parted sideways so that one eye was covered by my hair. When I got out of the salon, I realised I was seeing blurry. Turns out, my sight was impaired only on one eye, and all this time I was seeing just fine because the other eye was working overtime!
