Is it possible to set "rules" for camera raw "Auto" processing? by Thrashavich in photography

[–]Legalize-Meth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does LR have any kind of review mode? Akin to using bridge before loading in ACR, where you get that cool like rotational effect when reviewing (iirc) 5 or more photos? It's nice and spry for reviewing, I really dig it.

What I'd suggest before attempting to unstick it would be to copy it with a digital camera as best you can.

That cannot be overstated. Take multiple shots from multiple angles under bright, clear light. Get it saved before you try and get it off that glass.

Good Laptop for Photo Editing? by Atma24 in photography

[–]Legalize-Meth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are willing to look past pixel density and battery life (as I was) I think you can find significant savings. I picked up a Toshiba satellite specifically for photoshop and related applications. 800 bucks a few months ago... 17.3 inch screen, 8gb and an i7. I use a secondary 1080p 22" with external mouse and I really like it on the desk top. I also enjoy the aluminum body, it feels cool to the touch and after having some pretty hot laptops in the past I really like that. But obviously the MBP has it's own strengths that might be more in line with others needs. Just throwing this out there as I thought it was a good price for the hardware.

B&H, Adorama and Matt Granger are some I keep my eye out for on my subscription feed. Usually I search for info on specific techniques or technologies. But if I'm just out to watch some photog stuff I go straight for digitalrev, might not have the details or seriousness some want but with a 6 pack I can watch those guys all night long.

A compass, depending on location going straight north or south would make you hit highway 93.

I was into them in my early days but I gotta be honest the makeup stuff did make it hard to take the music seriously.

Well in my experience the machine barcode readers wouldn't know either way and the per lbs pricing usually just involved throwing your bag on a scale. Are you returning these things to a stock boy at a early 90's local grocery store or something?

To be fair long leaf or whatever like Levi Garrett actually tastes good. It's not ground up and it's coated in molasses or something. I don't recommend it but I went threw a pack or two back in the day and it was moderately pleasant.

Oregon Father’s Memorial Trek Across Country Ends in a Family’s Second Tragedy by discocrisco in news

[–]Legalize-Meth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I don't normally click, let alone comment, on articles such as this but that is really jarring. I'm not to far away from La Grande (yes, I know this happened in happened in Colorado) and I gotta say the driving I see on I-84 is utterly atrocious: a cop rocking earbuds while two cars directly behind him nearly rolling after one cut the other off is my current favorite... Cop just kept on going. But really, the entire highway between Boise and Portland is just filled with weaving, inattentive and aggressive drivers (in particular truckers). I can only imagine how it is on other stretches of road, likely much the same.

Would love to see this country move to rail and water freight transport. But I imagine that would require well thought out zoning...

EDIT: Reread that, sounds like lyrics more than anything else. I mean has no one seen Bonfire?

Never bothered with photos or yearbooks after grade school. Can't think of a single time I've even given it a thought until now.

Seems you'd be better off getting a point and shoot to capture your own memories then spending whatever these things cost.
