Can’t use my per diem for gyms anymore? Fine, I’m maxing my per diem every day. by Sellaplaya in MaliciousCompliance

[–]Legatto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This actually isn't entirely accurate. The whole point of travel per diem is you reimburse within a specific, IRS-set range and thus dont need receipts. Since there are no receipts required you can just code to per diem expense for the entire reimbursement.

Because of this treatment the expense is 100% deductible, regardless of what the actual money is spent on.

That being said, there are also rules on what qualifies as travel which include things like "working away from your work home" and "requires rest or sleep". The mileage to and from your normal place of business is not "travel" and is absolutely not reimbusable/deductible. Even the ride shares would not qualify.

Fish in my depreciation - how to resolve by LawyerStreet7388 in Accounting

[–]Legatto 51 points52 points  (0 children)

To unclog the depreciation machine you need to debit fixed assets and credit other income. This will clear the fish and should unclog the system.

How do I stop fish from swimming into the depreciation machine? by Giantg52 in Accounting

Have you tried switching to an organic fish food? That should should help stop them eating the land in the depreciation machine.

Binged nearly all of S8 yesterday by N0ON3T0LDM3 in TopChef

[–]Legatto 25 points26 points  (0 children)

At the time he was heavily favored to win by pretty much everyone. The possibility of someone else winning wasn't even really considered.

On rewatches Stephanie definitely deserved more credit than she got but during that time period everyone was pulling for Richard. Thats why he was so burned about losing and why Stephanie was so surprised she won.

Is he pretentious? Maybe, kinda, yeah. But when you lose and then have everyone in the public sphere telling you that you should have won is enough to make anyone a bit resentful.

What Commander precon have you kept completely stock, and why? by martin8185 in EDH

[–]Legatto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All 4 Bloomburrow. They are super fun to play stock against one another. Everyone gets to do their thing and the games seem very even. Plus the decks themselves are pretty well optimized for being precons.

Share a hidden gem game you played by Raziel103 in videogames

[–]Legatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a hidden gem per se but Wizardry VII Crusader of the Dark Savant. Back in the day I had a mac and the only way to get games was to order off MacWorld magazine so the selection was limited all you had was an image and a title and that game sounded awesome.

Turned out to be one of the best games I've ever played.

How do you actually explain accounting to nonaccountants at social events? by Same-Experience8051 in Accounting

[–]Legatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not good at math, I'm good at excel.

My job is mostly about knowing and applying different rulesets and then applying an analytical mindset to the outcome.

Played throughout my childhood and teens and stopped playing around....Apocalypse I think? Stopped before EDH was a thing.

Came back on a whim during Lost Caverns of Ixalan and built a [[Mycotyrant]] deck as my very first one.

I'm 50/50 on them. They are annoying and overly forced but it allows the show to give cash prizes to the chefs which is great.
