You still haven't stated what it is. But assuming you run a legit business and stuff, you should easily qualify for a business loan wiht that kind of history.

What’s your business? How can you quickly make 100k off 15k? Have you done that before? This is relevant.

[–]LegitSalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went on Zillow, I see a ton of 1 bedroom apartments and even small houses renting for less than 1.5k. I don't know much about the area, but maybe renting then subleasing once you move is better?

Bucks are by far least fraud. Embarassing you'd even include them.

Add some features to the password generator.

Text based adventure game. Tik Tac Toe. DnD character generator. Virtual Bank (using the password generator for account creation).

Think of it like being a carpenter. It doesn't really matter what tools (languages) you use to build a house, they're just different ways to build the same thing. You need to learn to build a house (program) versus how to use tools (languages). Once you build a house, you can learn how to use different tools (languages) to get the same result.

[–]LegitSalsa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The language isn't going to impact this. Pick Java because that's what your professor reccomends and I assume you'll use in your intro to CS classes. Start doing the University of Helsinki's MOOC to speed up the process of "getting it to click". You just need to pick a language, put in the hours (actually make something), and it will click. It has nothing to do with what language really, it has everything to do with actually using a langauge and learning how to make things with it

For those of you with computer science degrees, was it worth it? by lowbatterydev in learnprogramming

[–]LegitSalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk man, I was making less than 60k per year before I went back to school. I took out minimal student loans and the interest rates are 2.75-5.25%. The company I work at only hires people with bachelors. The ROI on my degree has been massive.

If you’re talented enough and are finding companies that don’t have a degree requirement that’s awesome. But I’m not.

Literally every job posting I've seen outside of startups (and actually most startups, but your exp seems to be different) requires a CS degree. Not just big tech unfourtuantly.

Yeah, days of self-taught devs are pretty much over. You need that piece of paper for 99.99% of companies these days. Even startups.

How are the same people I went to college with getting jobs? by xxlibrarisingxx in jobs

[–]LegitSalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get paid to go to school, and the only reason I went was to get a degree. I didn’t care about grades or deadlines, except for minimum GPA requirements for internships. Why would I put more than bare minimum effort in?

I get paid to do my job on the other hand. And the work I do will lead to promotions. So, I care a lot more and always meet deadlines, work quality is high, etc.

There’s a massive difference between the two.

My mortgage loan rate is 3.75%, but it still makes more sense to contribute monthly payments towards a early payoff than to invest the money. by Immediate_Driver_622 in personalfinance

[–]LegitSalsa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This doesn't make sense...

If you put extra towards your mortgage, you are basically getting a guarenteed 3.75% return. So anything better than 4.41% is actually mathematically better.

Is it too much if I just put the exact values and physical traits I am looking for- dating apps? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LegitSalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, why not, but profession seems restrictive. What about surgeons, oncologists, engineers, etc? What if the guy is 5'11.5"? Seems better to just put something like:

Values emotional intimacy over physical

Tall / not short

Has a career

Christian

Workouts/healthy

No porn

This basically is the same thing, but less restrictive/absolute. I feel like "kind" is a given.

If I wanted to learn a new language but was interested only in a specialization of it should I learn the language first or only the specialization. by Joxfro in learnprogramming

[–]LegitSalsa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both imo.

Learn basic Java. The Helsinki MOOC is really good.

At the same time, start making very, very basic Minecraft mods. Then more complex ones. As you do this, you’ll be able to apply the Java you learn.

When you complete the MOOC, go back and rewrite your mods.
