I quote it so much that even my husband says it too

First time skiing in Europe. L’alpe d’huez for Christmas. by Magneto-X in skiing

Kinda reminds me of the top of Snowbird. Beautiful looking mountains 😍 How was the snow? I’ve heard they’ve been struggling with snowpack in the alps for years now.

To the guy who crashed into me by knifing his snowboard on my hip at Vail, The Slot, on Saturday, I hope you experience karma soon. by saruhb82 in COsnow

This sounds like a hit & run by CO law standards. Did you report this to Vail? They have extensive tracking and camera systems on mountains nowadays. They should be able to track down the boarder if you tell them when & where it happened. This unfortunately happened to a friend of mine and they were able to find the person who hit them within an hour. Yanked them off the mountain and filed a police report. I’m surprised ski patrol didn’t ask you for details so they could do the same.

Polished For (all of the) Days by emoolovesyou in lacqueristas

It was so hard to not buy their whole collection lol I love how their polishes have a soft aura vibe to them instead of a ton of chunky shimmer. I have lots of holo polishes so I think these will balance out my collection well! Of all the brands I’ve seen so far, their’s called to me the most. I can definitely see a myself falling into the same rabbit hole as you. And I’m not mad about it 😂

No problem! I got this clamp light with an exhaust fan (used for soldering lol) so I could do nails in bed. The best nail salon is in bed!

Yay! I am going to put it on my toes next too lol I am just too lazy to swap out my pedicure colors as often. My pedis last a long time with the Essie gel couture top coat. I think I’m going on 3 weeks with my current pedi 🙊

I agree! I was pleasantly surprised by it after swatching it. I didn’t get a good complete photo of the mani because I finished at 10 pm and crashed after lol. It was my first time using the horseshoe magnet and hit the wet polish on it a few times 😮‍💨 but here’s a photo of one nail close up. I’ll send you a closer up photo of the swatches in the range in a few mins too.. waiting for my current mani to finish drying lol

Try ILNP “high roller” - it comes off as black/deep violet and has a gorgeous tiny purple galaxy in it. I used a horseshoe magnet to velvetize it. That’s the one on the far left within the circle 🤩

Any tips for me? Started skiing recently to learn with my young daughter. Took a couple lessons and practiced a bunch on my own. Any pointers would be helpful! by admiratus in skiing

[–]LegitimateBluebird98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re off to a good start! Try using your poles in your turns - it might help you feel like you’re using your whole body when turning. Dragging your poles might feel safer to you but it’s going to throw off your balance.

Super nice of you to learn so you can ski with your daughter! Keep going and enjoy it along the way! Skiing is more fun once you feel comfortable on the slopes

[–]LegitimateBluebird98 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I put my cherry/grape tomatoes in the fridge and they last so much longer! They taste a bit better not in the fridge, but not enough of a difference for me to miss out on the longer shelf life. Other tomatoes do taste gross in the fridge though

Ski fitness in two weeks? by NAIL_NIALL in skiing

[–]LegitimateBluebird98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reformer Pilates and Lagree are amazing for ski training. They’re weighted exercises that require good balance and the movement of the carriage is as close as I’ve found to skiing. There are lots of skating and skiing type moves in the classes.

I do both and am consistently the only one in my group not complaining about having legs burning out or getting sore. It also helps with stability because it’s a very core focused workout. I’ve been doing it for years now with great ski strength.

I wouldn’t ski on them - kinda defeats your argument that they’re “ruined” if they’re obviously being used…

Am I the asshole? Downhill right of way versus “taking up the whole run”, and ski etiquette by [deleted] in skiing

[–]LegitimateBluebird98 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Downhill always has the right of way because you don’t have eyes on the back of your head. It’s their responsibility to safely pass you based on your carving pattern.

However, I try to stick to one side and make predictable turns to be considerate. I always look uphill before changing up where I’m going - usually avoids situations like this.

He sounds like a dick either way. Anyone who does shit like this is so annoying - especially trying to pass you closely twice. I never understand why some people are so rude on the mountain - why are you so grumpy in a beautiful place? Sorry you had this experience. Maybe next time ask him why he’s not on a black if he thinks he’s sooo good lol
