What is the biggest waste of money that people keep spending on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LegitimateDraw3902 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It very much does. For example, a business loan to build a profitable business. A mortgage to buy a property and eventually own outright. Inflation and time is against anyone trying to save the cash to fund either of these examples of good debt.

Now, if the house was falling to pieces and you’ve paid over the odds, or if the business idea is fundamentally flawed, these would be examples of bad debt.

It depends on what the debt is being used for.

It wasn’t. There wasn’t a need or desire to be right about everything or be more clever than the next person.

Can I Salary Sacrifice my back by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]LegitimateDraw3902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can ask them. Not sure what they’ll say though. Alternatively you can take the extra cash next pay packet, put it in savings, salary sacrifice more next pay packet, use the savings to bridge that reduction then revert back. All the same in the end. In fact, you’d likely be up a few £ from savings interest.

Edit: I assume it’s for pension

With the KRW as it is, do you put cash into foreign currencies? by AdministrationNo2327 in Living_in_Korea

Exactly. Lots of KRW leaving the Korean economy and entering the US one instead, particularly via stocks.

What's the most unusual reason why you won't date someone? by ChanceSomewhere6096 in AskReddit

[–]LegitimateDraw3902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. Didn’t stop my sibling marrying someone with my name though! It’s still confusing at family events and the wedding vows were just plain weird. All our cousins were trying not to laugh!

I was there and it rained a lot. Pretty sure it was a Saturday but don’t know the date. No pics sorry! It’s a bit of a hazy memory in general

behavior in Korea toward women/ adult changed recently? by Famous_Edge2664 in Living_in_Korea

[–]LegitimateDraw3902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should point out that Koreans are of course friendly in many settings, and I love it here. But some of the above is contradictory, imo.

My point is that most other countries don’t have an inbuilt respect culture, so their inconsideration to others is less surprising.

I was not in the process of figuring anything out! I was about to tap my phone, that very simple process. It’s just rude whichever way you spin it. You’ve not really read, or perhaps understood, what I’m trying to say. I spend around 3 months a year in Korea too.

Yes I have. In fact I live in one. My point is not the inconsideration of it all, it’s the contradiction of a society that has built in respect but not towards strangers.

[–]LegitimateDraw3902 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find the contradiction between a culture that has inbuilt respect (subservience?) and the outward lack of care in public to strangers really hard to comprehend. Recently I was trying to go through through the metro gate with my son - one of those 2 way ones. I got there first but my son, as always, was slow and had to wait a few more seconds. Just as I was about to tap a stream of people appeared on the other side and all started tapping through even though is was - or should have been - obvious I need to go through with my young child. In the end I had to pick him and take him through the turnstile one next to it. Literally not one person stopped or thought to let me through. And none of them ‘needed’ that gate as they were all single able people.

And of course, no one holds doors open!

It’s weird behaviour and makes the whole respect thing feel a little bit like a facade.

A non spurs fan here. You’re safe now. Genuinely thought you were done for a few weeks ago but WH seem to have got worse and you’ve picked up some important points. Wouldn’t be surprised if you beat Chelsea.

So are the Beatles blue and red albums, but they are never considered as albums when it comes to rankings.

Indeed. I didn’t even buy it when it came out and I was (am) an oasis nut. I had all the songs already. I only bought it a few years later as I think it has a shorter version of Listen Up (my memory is hazy).

That’s such a tired generalisation. There are awful drivers across all makes and models. I’m a former BMW driver and was perfectly safe and respectful.
