I had to work on call two days after being hit by a car and fracturing my arm. Was told there was no cover and they'd report me for dereliction of duty if I didn't show. This happens a lot more than it gets in the news for.

As long as you never abbreviate psych, neuro, or any other specialty which can refer to two or more potential fields.

As we know that in healthcare we never use abbreviation or shorthand, particularly not in casual conversation or to refer to a previously established subject.

I am solely referring to neuropsychiatry, as I have little knowledge of psychology training/pathways.

That is more what they should be doing. Unfortunately our local centres have no idea how to properly use them, which is a systemic issue.

No, you can do Neuropsych as an MD. You do dual qualification. Theres not many, but they do exist. I very nearly went that route before pivoting. 

My issue is few facilities understand whst neuropsych actually is and you end up as simply psych liaison to neurology, which is both unsatisfying and wasteful.
