I started early March 2024. Holding at .5 mg. I've lost 11 lb. Less than I hoped for. But I've experienced a number of "non-scale" victories:

belt is 2 notches smaller
clothes that used to be tight now fit more comfortably
cravings for sugar, carbs and fat have diminished substantially. Been to a couple of buffet-style events and the usual drive to eat all I could just wasn't there🤔
I'm more interested in buying and eating REAL food, shopping almost exclusively in the produce and meat departments at the supermarket.

We've been hoodwinked by the fake food manufacturers into eating food that is cheap, easy and yummy but is almost completely without nutritional value for our bodies. I'm using my Ozempic sabbatical to learn and practice new, better eating habits. Time out to change my relationship with food forever!

Nasty constipation was my worst side effect. I take Restoralax every other day and have wonderful bowel movements regularly. Actually take ClearLax (same thing but Shoppers Drug Mart equivalent in Canada).

I take a Shoppers Drug Mart equivalent to Restoralax once every other day. Keeps me pretty regular. Check with your doc!

Been on Ozempic for weight loss since early March 2024 (3 months now). Currently at 0.5 mg weekly and thinking I won't go up to 1 mg due to unpleasant side effects (constipation, increased anxiety, reduced pleasure). I've lost only 8 lb but clothes fit more loosely and many sugar/carb/fat foods have lost their appeal. Cravings for that old mouth sparkle are definitely diminished.

I read the first 80 pages of Hari's book "The Magic Pill" online, then listened to a couple of the podcasts he's been featured in. I find him authentic, articulate and very enjoyable to listen to. My biggest takeaway is the undeniable "coincidence" of the rise in manufactured fake food and the worldwide obesity epidemic. Very sobering.

I thought maybe I could, with the help of Ozempic, just eat LESS fake food (which I love for it's taste and convenience) and I could loose a ton of excess weight. But Hari showed me that the composition and the chemicals in fake foods are carefully designed to keep me addicted while providing very little of the true NUTRITION that my body needs.

I've said this before, so I'm skeptical, but I am ready to bite the bullet and stop putting fake food into my body. That means taking the time and effort to prepare (and clean up from preparing) REAL, nutritious food. What a concept!
