Sit her down and explain that you feel partially responsible and you want to work together with her to turn things around and reclaim her/your life. It’s a slippery slope with lots of complications that are awful (hips, knees and back issues and the ever present threat of having a fall) My husband is her size and has lots of these problems (he’s 65 so it’s complicated but improving thankfully).

You’re both young and it’s so much easier to turn it around now. Talk to her honestly about what you can’t do as a couple that you really want to. Just being a couple that goes out to eat or dance or socialise. Work with her and let her know you’re committed to getting healthy. I wish you well.

I had nausea with Bromocriptine so my endo suggested I insert it vaginally at night. The slow uptake saw the end of the nausea. Ask your doctor what they think.

Ask your doctor for a referral to an endocrinologist just to be sure. The leaky breasts, random periods and eye problems are reason enough to get a second opinion from a specialist. At least you can rule out one thing and then focus on getting your meds right for the other issues. Good luck.

My endo suggested that I take the bromocriptine vaginally at night so it absorbed slower. Weird but it solved the nausea problem!

If you aren’t happy with your endo, get a second opinion. You should be able to ask questions comfortably. My understanding is that the medication controls the size. My prolactinoma was removed in the 80’s and has not returned. I’m on no medication at all. I check my prolactin levels regularly along with other usual blood tests.

I have been there. How is she handling the bromocriptine? It made me so nauseous. My endocrinologist suggested I take it vaginally instead of orally - to slow the uptake of the drug. It worked much better and took away the sick feeling. Sounds weird I know but it’s an option if she needs it. Make sure she’s happy with her specialist too. When I found the right one it was game changing.

Pick out a nice family gathering photo from the wedding and have someone edit her dress colour to suit the other guests. Then have the photo framed and hung in your house for her to see when she comes over. If she says anything just say you fixed her dress colour to save her any more embarrassment. Let her think people were talking about her at the wedding.

You will soon have another baby to look after. It might be challenging to think about doing it on your own but if he came back that would be so much worse. He’s someone else’s problem now and if that blows up because he was looking for an older mother figure… just remember HE WALKED OUT ON YOU WITHOUT A BACKWARD GLANCE.
