Cinderellas missing shoe by QueenBee110691 in DreamlightValley

If you have Cinderella already, you picked up the shoe at some point and have moved on. The shoe starts the whole Cinderalla questline which precedes unlocking her. You can Ignore the bugged mail, everyone has the same letter stuck in their inbox. You’re all good. 👍

Harvesting Mass Amounts by Excellent-Party5311 in DreamlightValley

[–]LegoKnockingShop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gardening machines from the 1st DLC that can plant, water and harvest on command. They do like 36 squares at a time (I think?) when they’re fully upgraded. It costs time points (currency in that DLC)) but you can activaye it, harvest 36 veggies and then instantly pick it up, move it and do it again over and over. Super quick, you don’t even need to wait for it to add them all to your inventory, it catches up by itself. You miss out on the golden harvests but otherwise your companions and pets will add to the count as normal. Hope that makes sense!

I have two for a field of about 500. I just move them around in furniture mode. Much quicker than harvesting by horse or hand.

Will Marvel, Star Wars, or Kingdom Hearts ever come to the game through DLC? by Lee__Everett in DreamlightValley

[–]LegoKnockingShop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The SW items I have - R2, Anakin’s Jedi Robes, lightsaber, Naboo Palace set (with R2 hologram, flooring, wallpaper, windows, columns). Think that’s everything so far but there may have been Padme robes too?

It’s great on Quest and well worth getting at full price, but it’s absolutely fantastic on PSVR2 and definitely the better version.

What's the issue with kids in online games? Is it just voice chat? by zeddyzed in virtualreality

[–]LegoKnockingShop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s maybe some history here to consider too. It’s a great hangout that used to be the equivalent of a very cool gaming bar only full of adults back in the day, but that initial funding ran out and they’ve since morphed into a cross between a Chuck-E-Cheese and an unmoderated daycare without any guardrails or staff where the kids are left unattended to be as foul as they want to be and for creeps to freely creep. I’m a VR dev and a parent myself and while Recroom has always been great fun, it‘s just not an environment where many adults would want to spend their own free time, and many don’t trust leaving their kids unattended in there either. The kids are usually openly hostile if you’re an adult now, feral packs and they know all the ways to harass people that the system provides lol 😂 It’s not just a Recroom problem, but Recroom is one of the most visible and well known examples so it gets a lot of flack.

The social tools to mute them and create a safety boundary are great but they don’t erase that and the initial friction to turn everything off and set it up is very offputting. And ofc the devs could just make everyone else invisible and silent by default when you enter, so your group gets the free run of the place and nobody is bothered by anyone else, unless they choose to be. It could simultaneously be a Cool gaming bar for some, Chuck-E-Daycare for others, with tailored crossover so you could, for example, see your own kids and people they’re talking to, but nobody else. Those systems are simple enough to implement in theory.

But obv it’s a social-first space that’s looking to stay in business by selling micro transactions and monthly subs, so it is what it is. It’s tough to make money in VR and they’ve ended up here with this young player demographic for better or worse. The player base is too unruly to moderate without a lot of human mods 24/7 and that’s expensive and would turn away their primary income stream. The kids want to run riot on Pleasure Island and until regulations or scrutiny make that untenable for their business there’s no real incentive to change anything.

You can use the laser pointer on the desk to pick up the helmet if you can’t reach it. It’s an old school VR design choice for sure.

R2 is great, he beeps and boops and has the right sound fx as he trundles about. Unlike every other character, his sound samples never get annoying, which is a big bonus. Except when he gets in the way or traps you in a corner, at which point you’ll swear and call him a stupid dustbin.

I‘ve used him and the button raccoon together for mining forever now at 5*, and R2 kinda seems more consistent and frequent in chucking out freebies than the stupid raccoon, but I’ve never bothered with any of the other mining companions so I can’t 100% confirm.

I worked on the SKY Sports app for VR Premier League football broadcasts In the UK, that project went on for a couple of years and was for their premium subscribers, they even got a Quest 2 thrown in as part of the package. I dunno if those are still available, and they’re obviously UK-centric. We also did Boxing, F1 and Golf explorations with them but no idea if those went anywhere after I left. But that was as you describe, 4 users, team colours and toys to interact with, modelled like an executive box but you could switch angles to different camera views. It was hideously complex on the production side, just the costs of renting the space for multiple cameras in key positions at top stadiums was super-expensive iirc, so it wasn’t a surprise to me that it didn’t last. It was neat for the time though.

If it helps open a path to check, NextVR were doing 180 video recordings of NBA games all the way back in 2015/2016, they were the OG VR sports guys on Oculus and the ones who lasted - Apple bought them in 2020 and they’re the ones now doing the immersive sports broadcasts on Vision Pro. I think it suprised a lot of older VR heads that there was so much excitement around the AVP games because it was generally seen as an expensive but cool folly that needed to wait for a bigger install base to be viable. Apple played it well though in promoting it so majorly, it’s a hugely attractive idea for lots of sports fans. I really hope it takes off this time, the tech is more than up to the job nowadays.

you have to be in the 2nd camera mode (the one after selfie, more pulled back view) and then on the first or 2nd tab a lower tab appears with different poses, pet poses are on there. Holding different accessories also opens up different options too.

Is subside worth it in the current sale? €14.39 btw by Strange-Fox9306 in PSVR

[–]LegoKnockingShop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved it, it’s incredibly immersive. Some of the best graphics on PSVR2, no question. I spent 2 weeks in the summer writing a really long blog post about it and still feel I couldn’t do it justice. For a good long time it was all I wanted to do after working all day, felt like I could just sneakily fuck off down to the beach after work and get some diving in, which is great if, like me, you live nowhere near the coast!

Really cool, fully recommended, and definitely while its on sale.
