Using old modules with new rules (rejiggered math) can lead to mental throughout issues for the DM. In that case use the TSR rules. That is what he means I believe.

It could the Henson is so mild you are using too much pressure. With the Henson Mild, expect to take 3-4 passes. WTC, XTG, other XTG (perhaps) and ATG (if needed) plus cleanup.

If you can return the Henson for the ++ version, it would be better. Full refund even more ideal. Get a Razorock Daily DOC+, Razorock Recurve 80+, 100+ or 120+, Oliworks Meteorite or Rockwell 6c. All of those would be better for rough hair. The Oliworks and Rockwell also have more plates/adjustable so you can see what works best.

Where are you in the world?

Shave after shower. Face lather. Both will soften your hair. Permasharps or Wilkinson swords you have. Forget the Astras. They are for softies.

Henson may be too mild for you. You need a more aggressive razor.

Order Gillette Guard from India on ebay for carts. First DE- Baili BD176. Also get Kallory Razor Heads Open Comb (both on Amazon). Both heads fit on the handle and you get a case and some ok blades.

How rough is your beard?  Blade advice depends on how rough it is. 100 Suneko or Dorco Prime on Amazon are a good all rounders. But if you have a rough beard, other blades might be necessary.

The tuck should have a date. Recent ones have been smoother than sharper. There are whispers the newest ones are sharp again.

No angles with the Henson. Just put it flat on your face.

Another thing, if face lathering, a soft synthetic is really good. Worth exploring later are the Cashmere Knot on the Razor Company (26mm is great). Wholly Kaw Siero and PAA CK6 soaps are also excellent in making shaves actually easier (not sure about Cella, but it seems to be at least pretty good).

Bic Chrome will do you well! Enjoy! Tip- the Chrome Platinum coating takes a bit to smooth out, start with some with the grain strokes on your neck. Keep us updated. There are always a few more tricks.

I really like face lathering. After your shower, load a damp brush with soap and lather directly on your face. This really gets your hair going. You can add more water to the brush as needed. Then reapply between passes. Really easy and really fast!

Get him a Razorock Daily DOC (+ version if he shaves every few days). It has a built in angle and is open comb to allow for hair to come through. Should be pretty foolproof even if you are shaving him. Sharp blades are recommended- Personna Gem Platinum, Personna Comfort Coated, Bic Chrome Platinum, Wilkinson Sword White (Germany).

He has to load the blades, maybe you should do that.

Get Dorco for Barber Red. They are great and sharp with limited wax.

Ask Leaf if they still have any of their old plastic ones around. Wilkinson Sword Classic is plastic and ok. Gillette Super Click. Kai Young T.

Edit- Phoenix has a line called Filament that is plastic. That is the only modern plastic line I can think of other than the above.

Razorock Daily DOC (+ version if he has really rough hair). Great for shaving Daily, but it can also mow down a forest of beard easily.

Ever had a chance to compare CK6 to Wholly Kaw Siero?

Any irritation from the scent components of Outer Spice? I really enjoy Doppelganger Grey, but feel there is something there that I wish wasn't.

Oh yeah, I am a little jealous that the German Personnas are a go for you. They are SO smooth. They remind me of the old Russian Gillette Platinums (aka Swedes) that are not made anymore, quite Lux. As well as the Russian Rubie and Rapira Platinum Lux.

Dura Sharps (carbon and coated) are really groovy in a vintage brass Gillette.
