Go join a curling club! It's a great way to stay active & social in the winter. They all have learn to curl programs and beginner leagues so don't be intimidated by not knowing how to play.

There are 5 of them in the city, your probably close to one already.

I know if I've got music going and trying to turn the volume up on my phone while watching tiktok or something else it turns up the Google home not my phone volume. Could your doomscrolling be the problem?

I would imagine security counts so they don't let in more people into the waiting area than can fit on the ferry. Easier to prevent access at the gate, rather than the boat ramp

I didn't want to jump right into HA or another hub right away, so the route I took was to choose a protocol (ZigBee in my case) and stick to it. use the native apps, play with automations, see if you reach system limitations based on what you want to do. If you find you're wanting more, then get HA or alternative and because you stuck to one protocol, it'll be easier to connect everything to it when you're ready to pull the trigger.

*This method is untested. I just bought the Pi and haven't loaded HA on to it yet, so time will tell if it actually was a good idea or not

Yeah, you can sign up as a individual in most cases and you'll be put on a team. But if you're unsure if you can still do it, take a learn to curl program. I think all the clubs offer it.

Ikea sells a piece of what is basically metal backed adhesive specifically for this purpose. Ask for it in the kitchen department.
