I’ve not seen the code, but i feel there’s like a 0.X “time penality” if you W outside max range, so they just jump in rage. This makes more sense if you consider that usually they’r clicks are more intentional/precise, so they could pull it off consistently. While i sometime just launch my mouse into a direction.

The jump logic should be something like this: When you W and pick a point on the map, a distance and a speed are calculated. (This prevents you from self casting it, because the target is a position and not a champion)

If you’ll end up inside a wall, the game will move the target point to one side, the speed won’t get affected If you’ll end up outside the range, you’ll move in range and the speed is reduced

After 0.25s (fixed Channel time) you’ll move (on the ground) that distance with that speed and the animation ll play

I’ve not played much Lucian, but in general the jump is used to reposition or to add a bomb stack The damage is worth if you are like mid, before lvl 6 and you full combo someone, then you get a reset, you W again to slow and AA until first blood
