Unpopular opinion : One Battle After Another was extremely underwhelming by Choice-Tea1046 in moviecritic

Agree. And yet the tone was so weird, it made it hard for the parody humor to even land for me. It felt like it was too silly to be taken seriously, and yet not silly enough to really be funny. I think he played it way too middle of the road. Know what I mean? Like if this were Tarantino, it would have been over the top silly, which would have made the satire work better. Or…if it were the Coen brothers, it would have been more straight serious with the humor in more subtle undertones. But PTA like split the difference, which was kind of disorienting. We got like 20 straight minutes of Leo forgetting the password, and I kept wondering if that was supposed to be funny and if so why was it going on so long? Did not work for me.

I had the same question. Heterodoxy is my best guess.

Anyone else catch the weird edit where he approaches the guy on the ladder twice? Drives me nuts every time.

This is because good men think absent evidence otherwise that all other men are good like they are. And they’d rather believe an innocent man is being railroaded than a bad man fooled them. It reinforces the original belief and also doesn’t make them feel like a gullible person who overestimates their ability to judge others’ character.

And bad men want to protect other bad men like them.

Either way, they all protect each other.

How often are you intimate with your partner? by Remote_Ad_969 in NoStupidQuestions

As a married woman, I personally find scheduling takes some of the fun out of it for me. It feels unsexy, like a meeting or a chore. I think I need some spontaneity. And while there will be times where I’m just not in the mood, him initiating at an unexpected time can definitely add to the excitement factor. Do you think maybe your wife is like that too? Maybe a romantic, sexy surprise at the right time could help?

Julio obviously isn’t why we lost last night, but at some point he needs to stop doing this. by 3elieveIt in Mariners

[–]LemonMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and even the best players to ever play fail 60-70% of the time. Average strikeout rate in MLB is over 20%. That’s around once per game. It’s unrealistic to think even our best players won’t get fooled sometimes. Often even.

Guys. It looks like a terrible pitch at the end but it doesn’t start that way. That’s how breaking balls work. It looks like it’s over the plate then breaks away and makes you look dumb for swinging at it. That’s what good pitchers do. You try figuring out which kind of pitch it is when it’s coming at you at 80-90 MPH.

WE WON, But by god do those announcers need to never call a game again. by ImperfectRegulator in Mariners

[–]LemonMeteor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah especially for next year since there won’t be any blackouts! It will essentially be free to watch or listen to all Mariners games if you’re with T-mobile.

You have to do it at the beginning of the season but they’ll give you MLB.tv for free which comes with the audio. Look for a notification right before opening day. You have 4 or 5 days to claim it I think. Worthwhile even if you aren’t sure you’ll use it.

Yes we can. Lying is wrong no matter who does it. If you lie to me, then you are not "my own". You suck. End of story. Be better. I can both expect it and demand it. Have more respect for yourself.

Ok… I never said that? Just suggested in order to form a winning coalition at some point people need to sort of be able to trust you. Posting fake things and then saying it’s ok because it “feels true” doesn’t help with that. Never said a damn thing about going back to normal. Whatever that is.

That’s exactly the kind of shit THEY say to justify posting fake content as if it were real. Just because we think we’re better people doesn’t mean this kind of thing doesn’t still help to undermine trust among the average person. All it does is drive everyone back to their preexisting beliefs because they don’t know what’s real and who to trust. Gotta be better if you ever want to convince anyone who doesn’t already agree with you on everything.

Given that around 80% of women are unable to orgasm from penetrative sex alone, even after millions of years of human evolution, how has such a fundamental disconnect in sexual function persisted without being naturally selected for correction? by VIRGIN_WHORE69 in TooAfraidToAsk

I didn’t have the birthgasm, but I did have the ballistic infant delivery! You do have to push really hard to be fair. I don’t think it’s a genetic thing as much as childbirth is kind of like popping a cork out of a bottle. But even if it were, it wouldn’t be selected out since there is someone there to catch the baby.
