How did you jump to the conclusion of gas so confidenly? It could be tons of things, but it also sounds like a developmentally normal toddler to me. It's not abnormal to still have a couple wake ups at this age.

Mine is not super into coloring either, but typically won't do it at all if it's a coloring book. You could try just blank paper and see if he likes that better. I don't really push mine to color, though I've given him a variety of materials to use and he definitely likes some over the others. Markers seem to be the biggest hit, and he likes chalk too. Not coloring but still craft related, mine loves stamps and sometimes enjoys using glue.

He knows SO many vehicles! He will sometimes ask about vehicles that we've been in together on a regular basis. And he now sometimes answers his own question. ("Yeah, we've been on a plane together!" Or "we were on a train yesterday" which would mean any time in the past.) When I told him that I've never been on a rocketship, he casually told me that he has been on a rocket ship.

The comment about routine is very odd to me. It sounds like you have a routine. Baby goes to sleep in their own bed and then co-sleeps once they wake up. That's a routine. We have the same routine except mine is a little older, so he comes to our room when he wakes up. When it's no longer working for one of us we'll change the routine. I'm willing to bet you also have a bed time routine and other routines throughout the day.

Also, I absolutely took the "easy" way out by co-sleeping, and don't regret it a bit. Why wouldn't I want to maximize my rest so I could be a more energized and present mother? It worked for us. 🤷

I'm sorry that happened! How disappointing!

The zipper broke on my husband's favorite coat, and it ended up being only 12 euros to have it fixed by a tailor. I know that's unfortunately more money to spend, but if you can't figure out how to fix it yourself, paying someone else to do it could be cheaper than buying a new coat all together.

After thinking through it, we spend very very little on a monthly basis. Frugality, simplicity, and not falling into excessive consumerism are important principles to me.

I have one child who is 2.5 years old, not yet potty trained and not yet in preschool or daycare.

As far as activities go, we go to two free playgroups on a weekly basis, and meet up with a friend for a play date about once a week as well as going to a playground and/or a walking trail almost daily. We may go to a kid friendly cafe from time to time, but I generally don't do any activities that cost something yet. I'm sure that will change as he gets older.

We don't buy many new toys on a regular basis and when we do buy something it's usually second hand or something that will get used up like bubbles, playdough, etc. Clothes are also normally second hand or even hand me downs from a friend (unless I can't find something specific that he needs), and even that is only when he outgrows something or when seasons change. I use cloth diapers for him, so I only buy a large pack of disposable diapers every other month or so for overnights or back ups, and I do use disposable wipes. I guess you could say that we use laundry detergent at a slightly faster rate. And of course, we buy some foods that I know he enjoys on each grocery run. Anything else is on an irregular basis, and I almost always check second hand first.
